To align with the glidescope:
Haina?
edit
strange the side does not properly update.
I just now see that Jensdad was on the ILS already.

dook 23rd Oct 2019 20:09

Jensdad has not identified it, but you have with Haina.

Your runway.

Thanks,
I was in the holding pattern till somebody nailed the lifting body glider.

dook 23rd Oct 2019 20:19

Yes - life is quite busy these day with three threads going.

At least I have the time to track them all.

jensdad 23rd Oct 2019 20:22

Hi SLB, as dook rightly says, it's all yours. I was still at cruising altitude over the Baltic Coast when you were crossing the piano keys. :)

dook 23rd Oct 2019 20:36

We used to put the jets down on the piano keys.

dook 24th Oct 2019 09:41

I don't that's an airfield but how about USNS Choctaw County.

Self loading bear 24th Oct 2019 17:42

It floats indeed but Choctaw is way faster than this one

dook 24th Oct 2019 17:50

I thought it might also be USNS Alan Shepard but now you've said that it can't be.

It's maybe that old WW2 carrier which is still in service. I found it this morning but forgotten its' name retracing my steps.

USS Bataan ?

dook 24th Oct 2019 18:29

Is it a Wasp class though ?

dook 24th Oct 2019 18:57

OK - how about 15 kts speed.

The Lewis B. Puller ?

Self loading bear 24th Oct 2019 20:44

ESB-3 Lewis B.Puller it is
the deck is yours

dook 24th Oct 2019 21:00

I think it is time for OH.

sycamore 24th Oct 2019 21:02

ea200 24th Oct 2019 22:49

Here's one to be going on with

India Four Two 24th Oct 2019 22:51

Somewhere in California?

ea200 24th Oct 2019 22:53

Yes it is.

dook 25th Oct 2019 08:20

Is it still in use ?

dook 25th Oct 2019 08:36

Is it called "On the Rocks Airport" ?

ea200 25th Oct 2019 09:55

Not that one Dook but similar elevation. Still in use and occasionally used by some very wealthy visitors (according to the locals).

ea200 25th Oct 2019 10:00

https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....512b5160c4.jpg
This any help?

dook 25th Oct 2019 10:24

Now you have me wondering.

Maybe the locals are poor or if not why very wealthy people would visit.

ea200 25th Oct 2019 10:34

There are a few very private and luxurious properties tucked away in the hills around here.

dook 25th Oct 2019 13:23

Is it near Clear Lake ?

dook 25th Oct 2019 14:17

Georgetown ?

Or maybe Placerville.

ea200 25th Oct 2019 16:29

Not either of those and not near Clear Lake but you're heading in the right direction.

dook 25th Oct 2019 16:31

Eagle Ridge Ranch maybe.

The trouble is that I'm unsure whether the large foreground area is a runway or a ramp area.

ea200 25th Oct 2019 16:38

Wrong direction now. You were closer with Clear Lake.

ea200 25th Oct 2019 16:42

That foreground area in the first pic is a ramp. Hangers behind the camera.

dook 25th Oct 2019 16:43

The only other one I have marked is Willits.

ea200 25th Oct 2019 18:12

Right direction now but further North. Can post GE overhead if required.

dook 25th Oct 2019 18:14

Go on then......

ea200 25th Oct 2019 18:26

One more clue first. There is a lake in the background and its a large one.

dook 25th Oct 2019 18:34

Latitude-wise there is only one large lake north of Willets and there's no airfield there.

However, Lake Mountain ?

ea200 25th Oct 2019 19:01

If you're thinking of Ruth Lake it's a lot bigger than that. Long and thin though and further North.

dook 25th Oct 2019 19:04

No, I was thinking of Pyramid Lake but no matter.

Is it called Trinity Center ?
