sycamore 24th Sep 2019 15:49

Not a Brit,or a Guardsvan`...

dook 24th Sep 2019 15:58

I presume you mean not Britannia and not British.

The fuselage looks long and thin but I think that's due to the GE oblique view.

I don't think it's Russian either.

Germany or France maybe.

sycamore 24th Sep 2019 16:09

yes;,maybe,;specsavers,;one

dook 24th Sep 2019 16:11

I thought it might be a Tu-114.

sycamore 24th Sep 2019 16:23

Not that fast,or as noisy..you could catch it in a Jag...

dook 24th Sep 2019 16:25

You mean like hitting 630 kts off a wingover in my display ? :p

So maybe it is a Russian aeroplane.

Are we in what was the DDR ?

sycamore 24th Sep 2019 16:40

I should have added `maybe`, after Jag...not French....

Once had some fun doing a stall-turn in a Hunter....

dook 24th Sep 2019 16:47

I'll try again.

Russian aeroplane in the DDR ?

sycamore 24th Sep 2019 16:56

Yes... .

JENKINS 24th Sep 2019 17:43

And it is called Borkheide?

dook 24th Sep 2019 18:06

Now there's a bomb in a bucket J.

sycamore 24th Sep 2019 18:34

Found it looking for KP`s place..
J ,full tips away you go....

JENKINS 24th Sep 2019 18:52

Full tips, no spinning. Several Il18 trips with Tarom when collecting Islanders from Bucharest, seemed to make the Guardsvan quite pedestrian. You will know the Electra of course. Very distracting You Tube for the KP field. Cannot contribute ce soir or tomorrow morning, so OH I fear.

Small challenge
should not take much time?

https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....a0d8207ea.jpeg

dook 24th Sep 2019 19:28

That's a matter of opinion !

Are we back to the Far East ?

sycamore 24th Sep 2019 19:47

Borneo Airways Twin Pioneer...?

dook 24th Sep 2019 19:51

I have a theory that people often go back to the area of the previous challenge(s) because they found something interesting in their searches.

Keningau airfield ?

Self loading bear 24th Sep 2019 20:47

Dook’s Theory is proven correct although I found this one some challenges back.
But indeed Far East
Borneo Airways: not sure

dook 24th Sep 2019 20:51

I'll shoot for Indonesia though.

Self loading bear 24th Sep 2019 20:55

Then it will not be a hole in one

dook 24th Sep 2019 21:02

Borneo Labuan ?

Self loading bear 24th Sep 2019 21:51

Labuan it is
But it is Malaysian though
Is it considered part of Borneo when it is in fact a different island?
dook is in control

dook 25th Sep 2019 09:39

It is not part of Borneo.

A lot of firwood
Canada?

dook 25th Sep 2019 20:09

No, but you're not far away.

Self loading bear 25th Sep 2019 21:48

For a split second I thought you would now have chosen Dillingham Alaska.
But no visual match.
It is Alaska?

Self loading bear 25th Sep 2019 22:11

Searching “paved runway 26”
Mackinac Island airport Michigan USA

dook 26th Sep 2019 08:45

It is indeed Mackinac Island.

Your shot Bear.

Self loading bear 26th Sep 2019 16:15

Thanks dook,

apologies for the delay.
I was very busy on my work today.

I wonder if this airport would be big enough for me

https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....e7c838dce.jpeg

dook 26th Sep 2019 16:30

Goedenavond Bear.

Have you taken us back to the area of my last one ?

dook 26th Sep 2019 16:49

Ahhh - "big enough for me "

Big Bear CA.

edit: just looked on GE and it doesn't look right but the runway is in the correct direction.

Looked at some more recent photos which are much better. I think your image is quite old.

dook 26th Sep 2019 18:32

If I am correct it will be OH.

Self loading bear 26th Sep 2019 20:19

Big bear CA it is

OH called

Russell Gulch 27th Sep 2019 01:19

OK, try this one:

dook 27th Sep 2019 12:38

I don't see a terminal building. Might be PPO.

A clue would be useful.

Russell Gulch 27th Sep 2019 15:08

Here's a clue:

https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....9fd3761295.jpg

dook 27th Sep 2019 15:22

Cheers.

They look distinctly American to me.

Russell Gulch 27th Sep 2019 16:02

It is in America. The prop has some significance.

dook 27th Sep 2019 16:07

It looks like it might be a Curtiss-Wright electric propeller, so does it have a connection with the company ?

Perhaps an air race.

Russell Gulch 27th Sep 2019 20:33

It is indeed that prop, dook, but no connection with the company or an air race. Further clue: The aircraft it came from is a P38
