Not in Canada but this community was originally established due to the presence of iron ore. Tourist oriented these days.

I’m checking with the photographer about the colours. It looks to me like a filter has been applied.

dook 15th Oct 2019 17:08

If those cars are driving on the left, might we be in Orstralia ?

JENKINS 15th Oct 2019 17:09

Even a Rounders pitch.

India Four Two 15th Oct 2019 18:54

If those cars were driving on the left, they would not survive very long! We are half a world away from the Lucky Country.

I am aware of three different games might be played on that “pitch”, but I doubt that anyone would have the temerity to suggest playing Rounders.

asturias,

The picture was “Lightroomed”. You can take your sunnies off now!

USA any good ?

JENKINS 15th Oct 2019 20:26

No cricket pitch.

India Four Two 15th Oct 2019 21:38

dook, USA is more than good, it's a direct hit.

Definitely Not Cricket, JENKINS.

Asturias56 16th Oct 2019 07:49

Mountains look high & dry to me - California, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico?

India Four Two 16th Oct 2019 07:57

Appearances can be deceptive. Further north than all of those states.

In case it might help, the view is to the SSW. The mountains in the distance are less than 5000' ASL.

JENKINS 16th Oct 2019 08:37

Touch of calm to the proceedings, Lake Placid?

dook 16th Oct 2019 08:51

Looks like a good shot.

JENKINS 16th Oct 2019 08:58

Out for a couple of hours, so I fear OH if correct. Enough clues, India Four Two, for a former geography master. Was wrong about tennis courts, but I stand by my assertion of 'Rounders.'

India Four Two 16th Oct 2019 15:43

Well said, JENKINS. I was going to try to work Desiderata into my clues.

The picture was taken by a friend of mine during the Montreal Soaring Council's Fall Wave Camp expedition to Lake Placid. I'm surprised no one spotted these in the background, which rather give the game away:

https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....536f9083a2.png

JENKINS has declared Open House.

JENKINS 16th Oct 2019 16:29

Just read 'Desiderata' for the first time, totally unknown previously. Thanks, and a comment comes to mind, 'Party on Dudes.' I hope that the inference from this is not entirely lost.

Still Open House from me, but I have something up my sleeve if required. Difficult to be up my sleeve in a Tarzan outfit.

dook 16th Oct 2019 16:38

Oh, go on, be bashful.

JENKINS 16th Oct 2019 16:39

Right, try this.

dook 16th Oct 2019 16:51

Roof pitch on houses looks fairly steep.

Mainland Europe perhaps.

JENKINS 16th Oct 2019 16:56

Yes, so they seem, but no to location.

dook 16th Oct 2019 17:18

A very long shot at Canada.

India Four Two 16th Oct 2019 17:21

Red roofs and a roundabout? More likely Australia.

JENKINS 16th Oct 2019 17:21

Not Canada. Tarzan costume out of place there, but there is a link here.

JENKINS 16th Oct 2019 17:22

And not Australia.

dook 16th Oct 2019 17:24

Tarzan - apes - Africa ?

JENKINS 16th Oct 2019 17:28

In my travels I have flown from here.

JENKINS 16th Oct 2019 17:32

Not Africa. This Tarzan, with a tiny (?) link to this field is from my own home town. Bought his own furniture, apparently.

dook 16th Oct 2019 17:35

I can't believe it's UK.

JENKINS 16th Oct 2019 17:37

Won't get far if you believe that.

dook 16th Oct 2019 18:07

Am I correct in thinking it's being decommissioned and making way for roadworks ?

It might be near Yeovil.

Kemble Pitts 16th Oct 2019 18:24

Thame maybe.

JENKINS 16th Oct 2019 19:04

Grass at Thame, and still reasonably useable? Not near Yeovil in a strictly geographical sense.

dook 16th Oct 2019 19:09

Is there a connection with Michael Heseltine...…….?

South Wales ?

JENKINS 16th Oct 2019 19:11

The Welsh coal owner, Salopian, and Mace waver? Yes

dook 16th Oct 2019 19:13

So is it actually in Wales ?

JENKINS 16th Oct 2019 19:20

Not in Wales, missed that, sorry.

dook 16th Oct 2019 19:24

That's why I originally asked about Yeovil as in the Westland affair.

Maybe we're near Liverpool.

JENKINS 16th Oct 2019 19:25

Stick with the Westland affair.

Kemble Pitts 16th Oct 2019 19:31

Weston Super Mare.

OH if correct.

JENKINS 16th Oct 2019 19:35

Yes, W-s-M. Westland had a presence there for several years in the final days. My one trip from there was to Little Snoring for Fakenham Races.

Open House declared.

dook 16th Oct 2019 19:46

It seems to me that you went back in time in GE to get your image.

JENKINS 16th Oct 2019 19:52

No, straight from my GE, unaware of any other way.
