For your interest, this is the GE image that I have, and I think you will agree that it is very different.

sycamore 16th Oct 2019 20:40

Clock it back to 2013, when it was WIP...
been around those roundabouts,as my late wife used to visit friends about 1/4 mile to the right ,beyond the heli museum....

dook 16th Oct 2019 20:43

I did just that.

JENKINS - maybe you would care to download the latest version.

India Four Two 16th Oct 2019 21:01

I doubt that the GE version number has anything to do with the images displayed. Leaving Historical Imagery turned on could display older images accidentally.

dook 16th Oct 2019 21:07

That is precisely why I always have it turned off.

Asturias56 17th Oct 2019 09:32

try this......... . a bijoux spot

https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....14c2760464.jpg

dook 17th Oct 2019 11:37

"bijoux" might indicate France.

Asturias56 17th Oct 2019 11:56

Sorry - i was showing off my famous command of European languages - not France........ no commercial air services here

https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....03b9fedc54.jpg

dook 17th Oct 2019 12:12

I see.

Italia then ?

dook 17th Oct 2019 12:24

Based on what I think is a Diamond Twin Star I thought it might be Bergamo but that has commercial services.

Asturias56 17th Oct 2019 13:20

We are indeed in Italy but you are correct - not Bergamo

This place has an old University (now that's helpful in Italy) which was the home of one branch of the sciences in particular

dook 17th Oct 2019 13:33

You're right - It's the second oldest university in Italy and it took me here....

Asturias56 17th Oct 2019 14:27

didn't think it would last long.................

as the bard said;-

ACT I

SCENE I. Padua. A public place.

Enter LUCENTIO and his man TRANIO

LUCENTIO

Tranio, since for the great desire I had
To see fair Padua, nursery of arts,
I am arrived for fruitful Lombardy,
The pleasant garden of great Italy;
And by my father's love and leave am arm'd
With his good will and thy good company,
My trusty servant, well approved in all,
Here let us breathe and haply institute
A course of learning and ingenious studies.

Its a lovely town

Dook in command

dook 17th Oct 2019 15:10

Thank you A56.

It's a good job the university was almost at the top of the list.

India Four Two 17th Oct 2019 20:57

Judging by the layout and the rectilinear road pattern, I’m going to suggest the USA, possibly an old USAAC base and maybe in flyover country.

dook 17th Oct 2019 21:03

Good afternoon 42.

It's a long way from the USA.

India Four Two 17th Oct 2019 22:14

Then my second choice is Australia.

dook 18th Oct 2019 08:05

Correct hemisphere but wrong country.

sycamore 18th Oct 2019 12:09

Fisantekraal,Cape Town,SA........OH if correct....

dook 18th Oct 2019 12:30

That's a hit sycamore.

Fisantekrall it is.

OH has been called.

Kemble Pitts 18th Oct 2019 17:58

An easy one for you.

dook 18th Oct 2019 18:31

They're all easy when you know where it is innit.

UK maybe.

Self loading bear 18th Oct 2019 19:58

Stow Maries
near Maldon

dook 19th Oct 2019 17:21

KP is obviously having a problem getting back here, but there are no doubts that you are correct Bear.

Why don't you post a new one.

Self loading bear 20th Oct 2019 11:58

We are not in a hurry,
but if we have consensus from multiple posters, I have something ready.

dook 20th Oct 2019 12:08

We don't need multiple posters. You are correct with no doubts.

I am. Even though I don't know much about non UK airfields, I still like to see if I can guess them.

jensdad 20th Oct 2019 15:26

The tiny snippet of countryside at extreme left says 'North West Europe or British Isles' to me. Other than that, I have no clue!

Self loading bear 20th Oct 2019 15:58

Northwest Europe is correct.
Although the 4 Aircraft are of same type, the second will bring you the furthest!

jensdad 20th Oct 2019 16:14

The lightning-flash markings look like Royal Canadian Air Force. Could it be one of the RCAF bases such as Lahr?

dook 20th Oct 2019 16:20

Or Jagel...….

Self loading bear 20th Oct 2019 17:16

dook 20th Oct 2019 17:31

You said northwest Europe so you must mean France and not UK.

Self loading bear 20th Oct 2019 17:39

I understood the Brexit is still not a fait-accompli?

dook 20th Oct 2019 17:40

Remaining non-nuclear armed units in France were repositioned to Marville, and RCAF Station Grostenquin closed in 1964.

Must be one of them.

Brexit ?

British members of parliament are stinking rats.

Self loading bear 20th Oct 2019 18:21

Europe will consider your post as a request for extension which We will take into consideration.
In the mean time we await your further struggle to solve this problem.

Does that sum up current Brexit and Which Aerodrome situation?

dook 20th Oct 2019 18:41

I have already said above it's either Marville or Grostenquin.

More likely the latter.

Self loading bear 20th Oct 2019 19:09

Naming two Aerodromes is one too many.
your latest post however choses the correct one.
GrosTenquin it is.

dook 20th Oct 2019 19:10

Naming two Aerodromes is one too many.

No it isn't.
