Amchitka is correct. :ok: Amchitka consisted of three separate airstrips. The one pictured is the most northerly and the smallest, The photo was taken looking ENE toward Constantine Harbour.

Fascinating looking at the airfields now on Amchitka, how well preserved the layout is underneath the snow.

Upon closer inspection, I see a round engine and a three-bladed prop, so I’ll take back my glider and substitute a Model 10 Electra?

Ahha Jenkins - I did have some shots of Parnamiri, but have kept them for another time.
Not in Brazil or Peru. It may be a trick of the light, but I think that there is a big clue as to the country in the last image I posted. |
