Yes to NW Europe.
No to Poland.

Heathrow Harry 16th Sep 2017 15:18

WIDN62 16th Sep 2017 15:23

The airline will give you the country. Evidence of German occupation (so I am told!) in the other photo.

First photo looks like BA colours circa 1990s.
Second photo appears to have suffered a 'Tallboy' or 'Grand Slam' effect.

First photo looks like BA colours circa 1990s.
I don't know which airline it is, but it isn't BA.

Dave

WIDN62 16th Sep 2017 20:07

Not Switzerland and not BA.

The airline amalgamated with a larger regional airline and lost its identity.

If you can zoom in, you may be able to identify the airline. There are other aircraft visible as well.

Looks like Braathens, so Norway. Perhaps Oslo Gardemoen before expansion, looks like Saab fighters.

sycamore 16th Sep 2017 20:28

Second picture suggests a nother parallel taxiway(bottom left with lighting).
Marker boards height suggest heavy-ish snowfall, and a/c postion suggests a runway of possibly 8000ft length(unless it was going around).
Hangar in hill and taxiway suggest smaller fighter aircraft.
Possibly Scandinavia,Norway...?

WIDN62 16th Sep 2017 20:40

Braathens - Yes.
Norway - Yes.
The other aircraft are trainers.
No fighters based there but often use the place.
I believe the underground aircraft shelters were built in the Second World war.
Oslo - no.
8000 feet - very good - actually 8015!!

Airclues 16th Sep 2017 22:45

Bardufoss?

OH if correct as I cheated....I googled "8015ft runway Norway"

Dave

WIDN62 16th Sep 2017 23:14

Yes indeed - Bardufoss! I didn't think it would be that hard.
