I agree as well, I've landed there, the hill to the left is a dead give away.

con-pilot,
There was a song written about you - "I've Been Everywhere" ;) |
I agree as well, I've landed there, the hill to the left is a dead give away. TCF |
I've landed there as well... the hill to right is a dead giveaway when landing from the opposite end too. LOL :ok: |

|
What a lovely building! (and aeroplane...DGA perhaps?).
Hereford TX? |
Not Texas. Aircraft is a Lockheed Vega. In the Pacific Northwest. Sort of...
|
I was convinced that it was in New England because of the architecture.
|
In that case it's Rogue Valley, Oregon
http://www.co.jackson.or.us/Files/Ai...e%20Becker.pdf OH if correct, 'cause I'm away from reliable internet access. Russ. |
Yes Russ, you are correct. It is the Medford, Airport situated in the Rougue Valley of Jackson County in southwestern Oregon, U.S.A.
As requested, it is OPEN HOUSE. |

Not Oklahoma... But you are in the right part of the world.
I will be back in about an hour.... |
Is that a Wichita lineman there on the line...?,or is it all Misserry...?
`Bullseye is Col.JJ Jabarra....`capiche? |
Nope---Not in Kansas.... next state over.... The airport is home of the first "Glasphalt Runway".
|
Gordy, can see you need re-edificating,after living in `Spamland`; Misserry=Missouri. Bullseye = ref.point...Didn`t they teach you anything on the NFTCU...????
Nevertheless ,it must be Rolla,MO.. Anyway does it work ,as advertised..? OPEN House if correct.. |
re glassphalt
Sycamore - Apparently not - from Rolla Downtown Airport details -
RW 9/27 - 3028 x 38 ft - FAA info at 20 Oct 2011 - "GLASSPHALT (sic) COATING DETEORATING (sic) AND GLASS CHIPS ARE BECOMING LOOSE. TALL WEEDS ON RY." Perhaps from lack of movements/revenue - avg - 24 per month LFH |
Ha, yep....I got the "missery" bit---you have no idea: I spend 3 months there every year on fire contract.
Yes it is Rolla, and the "glassphalt" does kind of work as advertised. It really cuts you up when you fall off a bike wearing shorts though... :ouch::ouch: The airport has an average of one plane every two weeks....we have "sailboat" races with sheets and office chairs on wheels down the runway occasionally to break the boredom in between training sessions....here is that lovely airport: OH |
Something to keep the thread moving -
last time I posted 'jindabyne' spotted something about my photobucket - I was not able to find out if there was anything wrong with the way I saved the image - let's see if the same thing happens with this http://i665.photobucket.com/albums/v.../prune1dec.jpg |

It is Oscoda-Wurtsmith, an old military base. I was up there working with the Medewin Hotshot crew while they trained new firefighters to call in water drops...
