Mr G . thank you - that took a while - I only managed to find a very obscure image to match your picture, so I took a guess.

that runway has got to be 10,000 feet at least.
and its right on the coast so its got to narrow it down a little.
i would say that its in North America somewhere.

This is in the Americas but not on the North American continent. I wish there were such a place in North America. The runway is not quite 10,000 ft long from what I have read. There are scheduled flights to Europe.

Thanks seacue. Ingenious clue. In the winter of 1986, I recall defunct charter airline Worldways, flying DC-8-63s from Toronto to Bonaire.
