Sorry, not Germany. Yes, turf runway adjacent. Town is ancient and known for its castle.

It is indeed Mr G.

Shortest licensed runway in the UK (and possibly Europe) at 382m x 18m. Compare that with Penzance Heliport which has a helicopter landing pad of 375m x 45m.

It used to scare the living daylights out of me as a low hours PPL but when the CFI wants to go for pie and chips, you go.

Not quite...Leicester's licenced runway 24/06 is 335m. Ref UK AIP.

Baldonnel, now Irish Republic but one time RAF, hence the style of buildings
