Has a Southwest US feel to it. West of the Mississippi at least.

Pretty nice/fancy building for the time (depression or immediate post-depresion era) so the town served must have been making good money. Or it was paid for by the WPA and I'm all wet.

Yes, an atmospheric scene - from the 1920s - not Kansas or Mississippi - Not SW - more to the East USA ?

I'd suppose that it might be Anacostia Naval Air Station. "Everyone" flew there for big events.

Well, Wiki says that Lindberg returned to Bolling Field in 1927. Bolling and Anacostia are almost one airport, now closed to fixed-wing.

Earlier maps/charts show Bolling being north of Anacostia NAS. They are in the other order today.

Those Poh-Leese men in the background don't look French to me. I'd guess that the fellow in the foreground with the white hat is a US naval officer.

seacue.

You could be right. But the second picture is Paris, 1927.

So I will now go for,

Bettis Field, P.A.

Clint - you got it ?
It is Bettis - 1922 - what a fine terminal building - of its time.
My info says Lindbergh landed there in 1927 in the course of his goodwill tour and that picture suggested of the Spirit of St Louis was at Bettis.
I don't think it is Paris.
In the 30's,with the depression etc the glamour faded.
Bettis was sold to Westinghouse in 1940 and developed into Laboratories - naval nuclear propulsion technology for Subs and aircarft carriers.
Over to you
Des - from a humid Dublin - almost time for a pint of the black stuff.

Ok des,

Just goes to show you can’t always rely on Google !! A site there clearly labels the second picture as being in Paris.

Ahh... the black stuff. Marvellous. Bit prone to it myself. Trouble is my waist line doesn’t like it.

The next one from me is a little more modern.

Hmmm....

Looks suspiciously like Abu Dhabi, around 1966/67?
