As originator of Mk I of this thread, I concur that the challenge should be a photographic image of an aerodrome or part of the aerodrome (terminal building, etc.).

The silly one...

My apologies folks. Just thought I'd post something a little different.

So carry on, please. OPEN HOUSE.

(PS: It's Santa Barbara, California)

Cheers,

Tom

Mr G has it
It's a scene typical of the daily routine of the time at Archerfield. Maintaining the grass surface of the landing area. In the background can be seen the Qantas Empire Airways hangars, with one of that airline's DH86s on the tarmac outside the larger one. This dates the photo to the 1930s, sometime after 1934.
Over to you Mr G.

Somewhat topical - looks like Montserrat covered in volcanic ash (but hasn't Montserrat been done before?)
Open House if correct.

The one you fly over when you take the helicopter trip from Jolly Harbour Marina Heliport on Antigua !! (we flew along the runway at about 50ft)
Have they built another runway somewhere? I thought it was helicopters only but then I'm going back to 2003.

yes, all corect.

W.H. Bramble Airport, also known as Blackburne Airport, was a small international airport on the east coast of the island of Montserrat. Named after Montserrat Chief Minister William Henry Bramble, the airport was located near the now-abandoned capital of Plymouth. The facility was destroyed in 1997 by an eruption of the nearby Soufriere Hills volcano. For several years afterwards, Montserrat had been only accessible by helicopters or boats until July 2005 when the new Gerald's Airport was completed on the north end of the island.

chevvron has declared open house.

Mr_Grubby is correct. Formerly French Morocco, Sidi Slimane is now known as The Fifth Air Force Base of the Royal Morocco Air Force. Your turn.
