It looks like a lovely design. Perhaps it was entered in the Light Aircraft Trials at Lympne. Is it from Belgium ?

Sorry, not Belgian either. The aircraft in question did take part in aircraft evaluation trials in 1937, but not at Lympne.

Well done Mel, it is the Stettin LA 11.

Built by F. A. G. Stettin (Flugtechnische Arbeitsgemeinschaft an der H.T.L. Stettin), the Stettin LA-11 Landmann, registered D-YLAS, took part in the light plane evaluation at Rangsdorf in October 1937. It could be used as a floatplane (La 11W) and was powered by a Mercedes F-7502 air-cooled 2-cyl. boxer engine.

Preserved at Flugausstellung L.+P. Junior, Hermeskeil

Over to you.

Mel's Challenge

Tu.114 has it. It is the Messerschmitt P.1110. You have control.

LowNSlow, 1950s is correct, but the design is not French. Right side of the Atlantic though. Tu.114

I think you will find the engines were to be four gas turbines fore and aft of the wing about 5 and 7 O'clock positions

The basic shape is similar to the HP 111. However the engine intakes on the 111 were meant to be in the wing (Victor style). The engine intakes on the challenge appear to be situated under the nose. Very strange.

Was the mystery design related to the Vickers V.1000 ?

Good evening all, excuse my absence. The design is not from the Handley-Page or Vickers stable. In fact, it most likely has no British influence at all. Tu.114
