You are both correct! It is the Vought OS2U Kingfisher. The Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm also operated 100 of the type, from 1940 to 1944. con-pilot has control.

As con-pilot seems to have taken a leave of absence, perhaps chiglet would like to post a silhouette challenge?

Thank you Chiglet, I thought that the 566 was a very clean looking aircraft.

Here is the next challenge, also one that will not last long.

Well done evansb, I thought that offering a concept aircraft might have taken a bit longer. It is the Vickers C six engined bomber project.

I found some rather good 3D interpretations on the net recently, including a short video.

You have control.

S'land's challenge

The following three-view plan is from C F andrews and E B Morgan's book "Vickers Aircraft since 1908" published by Putnam showing the Vicker's 1942 design study for a very large bomber of canard configuration with six turbo-supercharged Centaurus engines. Proposed Max weight 178,000 lb.

Is a new member allowed a guess as well? If so, may I suggest the Armstrong-Whitworth AW.167? I did not find a picture of it, but every description I found matched the three-view provided. Tu.114

Welcome Tu.114. I look forward to your postings. Sorry, it is not the Armstrong-Whitworth AW.167. A good guess though.

Okay, another guess then. Could the aircraft in question be of German provenience? I remember having seen this odd engine intake configuration on a Heinkel post-war project: the He.211B-1, though the cockpit and tail look different. Tu.114

There is a German connection, but the design was not penned in Germany.
