Looks like it's the Fleetwings XBQ-2A

Oops, beaten to it!

Hi boys!

I'm going to award it to SincoTC as it is specifically the XBQ-2A. There was a -1 that was quite different in terms of engines (see below).

XBQ-1

An intersting site: Fleetwings BQ-1/BQ-2

I'd never heard of these proving that this forum is a wonderful learning ground! The PQ-12 looks pretty off-beat too!!

Thanks RR,

I'll have to declare Open House though, as I'm going offline in about an hour and won't be back until Monday.

If you turn your monitor 90 deg. and view it along the screen, the answer just about jumps out at ya.

Well it's just turned Sunday, so I'll turn in and check the progress in the morning. Cheers.

Evening Graeme,

Yes I will have a good weekend thanks; but won't get much sleep though as I will be watching the GP live from Melbourne. Webber stands a good chance of a home-win if he can beat his team-mate, but if you get some "British" weather then who knows who will win.

Regarding your latest challenge, the wheels just visible at the top shout Bell X-1 to me and the background looks a bit like Muroc, maybe some of the shadow fits but where's the famous "moving tail" gone, I can't figure out the sun-angle distortions?

Seems like I just missed you, and as I'm off myself now. Open House please in the unlikely event of this being correct

I would go along with TC, Bell X-1. Straight wing and the angle of the sun causes the shadow of the tailplane to merge with the fin.

Open House then. Nicely done Sinco.
Sorry mate but any form of motor racing bores the bejesus outta me, round and round and round they go. I use to watch Bathurst when it was the Bathurst 500 (miles) but I can now think of better ways of wasting time...silhouettes! LOL.

I can't figure out the sun-angle distortions?
I guess knowing the answer gives me a false impression of the 'difficulty factor' but I thought the bullet body, short wingspan and the narrow undercarriage would be dead giveaways however I guess the sun has a lot to answer for!

Without a doubt the Goddamnit Mk.1. These things happen mate.

(Mel, how did you make your challenge image 'ghosty' on the edges?)

Hi Graeme. Image made "ghosty" by Adobe Photoshop when I cut and pasted the image from the original photograph. Certainly no skill on my behalf.
