Silhouette challenge
I'll say "yes" to that. In fact the answer is on this page. When you find it, continue on, don't wait for me to confirm.
Past midnight here so I'll catch you tomorrow. Cheers mate.

Good evening everyone.
The activity on the thread has reduced considerably.
This is possibly due to the change in ideas. I think that part pics are a great challenge.
However, I think that we should put the thread on to an even keel.....
So, no silhouette, no part aeroplane, just a photograph.

Where are you today then?
Low activity? Well, I'd be on if I could. I think Skytrain10 is pretty committed to it too. Just a blip.... normal service again soon. Personally I like the "part plane" ideal, or even "part-silhouette" so that we don't drift to far off course?

Well I'm happy to have a crack at anything.
Sadly, even though I can see that biplane in it's entirety (is that a real word?) I don't recognise it. I first thought that the surfaces were shiny, like metal, so I was thinking of the Short Silver Streak but the tail's all wrong. Is it a fighter?
Guess I'll have to wait for your cryptic clues!

Cluetime, and straight not cryptic.
First world war era - Japanese.
It looks shiny because it was (unusually) of monocoque construction.
Originally designed as a fighter.
One built, but destroyed by fire before it flew.
Big clue:
It's on Breguets' Challenge.....
