Wittman Tailwind!
That's the sort of thing I've been looking for, where the cockpit window angle and the top cowling angle are almost the same. Then a thought occurred to me (they sometimes do), that the starboard wing is interfering with the silhouette outline?

Is it a Murphy product, maybe a Maverick? Some seem to have the right shape of UC legs and spats

You didn't say that it wasn't a Murphy though! So is it a Rebel ? There seem to be so many little variations!

Have to go now so OH if correct, but I doubt it is.

Good challenge LM...and well done RR.
Now I know why it reminded me of Aero Boreo AB-115...its virtually identical...just a slightly longer nose and the wing struts are positioned further forward.
What you got for us RR...?

From memory you were a fan of Aerofiles? So I'll start with American and most likely a homebuilt from the 30's? Mind you, my guesses have been lousy lately!

Me think it is earlyer. Rotating engine and chauvier propeller. Could be pre 1920.
