Hi LM,
Five minutes to go on lunch break! Is it the Supermarine S.23/47 ?
Usual caveats (OH) if correct.
TC
That was a Typo, should have said "Is it the Supermarine S.24/37 ?" Habit cos 23/47 is my birthday!!

Hi LM, it's coffee time here, I'm 23/03/47 and twas bloody cold then too!
I wasn't too far off though with my quick look, seems like I found the right one but it was titled with the specification number and not the type number. I found this after I corrected my typo but was too busy to follow it up. Well done HD
Supermarine 322 (S.24/37) - torpedo-bomber

"You were so, so close....." This is the page I found
Supermarine S.24/37 - torpedo/dive bomber
It's my own stupid fault, I should have recognised from the format that it was a general specification, but we've got a TV crew here filming and I only had a few minutes to play, it's been sodding hectic, they've gone now but there's nothing to play with
Never mind though, it's all good fun
HD Many thanks for your generous offer, unfortunately I'm not in a position to submit challenges at the moment due to my rather short and widely spaced online times. In the circumstances it would be better for you to declare OH and post yourself if it's still open when you return.

if i may, i would like to hand control to TC.
firstly im at work for another 4 hours and secondly, TC clearly knew which plane it was and the whole area of air ministry spec versus name is a very cloudy issue.
lots of planes are known by spec as well as by type. Some, like the Gloster F5/34, are known ONLY By spec.
however if no pic is posted by the time i get home at 9.30, I do have one ready
