Hi Graeme,
Is it the Arado 196 (first two examples)? The later production type had twin floats. I have found conflicting stories whether it's V1/V2 or A or B.
You'd think that the prototypes would be V1 or "A", but I've seen twin-float drawings with that title! and a Polish plastic kit shows the only single-float drawing I've found and that's titled V3/V4 "B" and has slightly different struts and rigging for the sponsons!

Thanks Graeme, I will have to declare Open House again as I'm offline for the rest of the weekend in a couple of hours!
Keep hitting that F5 mate! It seem that you'll have to be fast to beat LM though

In the best possible way I hope!
I had posted "OH" at 11:39, than went back to add my advice to Graeme after seeing his F5 F5 F5 line, but by the time I had submitted the edit you'd done your F5 +Ctr V. but I see that his green light is now out.
On the subject of the lights and your earleir comment about this. Using the computer in my office, where I have the cookies set up to automatically log me on, I don't normally log off when I finish on this site, I either close the browser, go to another site or just shutdown. I have sometimes come back onto the site on another computer in the workshop, to see what's happening and because that computer's not set up to log me in, I was surprised that I sometimes find that my light was still on. I have come to the conclusion, that if you Log-out, your light goes off immediately, but if you just leave, still logged-in, PPrune's server either "times-out" your connection or "pings" your IP address without response and turns it off. I would like to log-out (and usually do if I've posted something that someone might respond to), but it's annoying that doing so clears the cookies, requireing a full log in each time( which seems to dog poor Carson). I think that I may have missed something when I first registered to stop it doing this, but I don't want to re-register as I would have to use another name and lose all my "history".

RE. your above TC,
I agree. The same thing happens to me. I have found that a reliable way (or so it seems) to check who's on thread is to check the bottom of the page on Aviation History & Nostalgia before going to Silhouette Challenge.
As far as Graeme is concerned, I think he's probably now zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Hi HD and LM
HD, we do seem to searching the same routes lately! I think you're right in saying it's a Benoist, but I think it's the Benoist 14 of 1913. I don't know about the Model B, maybe it's the same, maybe we're both wrong?
There's some interesting info below with more the following week and other American seaplanes in the issue linked, but no drawings or designation, the "14" came from Aerofiles.

I'm offline soon 'til Monday so Open House please if LM decides in my favour.
