Is it a Bell machine? Or Douglas? I need to research a bit. I know Bell produced a similar machine, but not exactly the same. RR

A version of the Bristol Beaufort manufactured in Australia by the Department of Aircraft Production's Beaufort Division altered the shape of the tail fin to make it larger. Was this a proposal for a re-engined version from them?

Morning Guys.
North American-ish look
Bell machine? Or Douglas?
On the right track. This design was a very different looking offshoot from an aircraft ordered by the Armee de l'Air. When France collapsed the undelivered aircraft were diverted to Britain. This pusher design was a proposed 'C' version of that aircraft, but never eventuated. There was also a heavy cannon version/design and another with twin fins.

Evening evabsb. Yes, this design offshoot from the Martin Model 167 Maryland was the Model 167-C. There was also the slimmer Model 167-1 with a solid cannon armed nose, the Model 167-D low wing twin-fin version and the Model 167-E with tricycle undercarriage.

Martin expected a lot of potentially successful spin-offs from the original design.

Control is yours.

Yes Graeme and Sablatnic it is the Wedell-Williams Model 44 racer. Roscoe Turner won the 1934 Thompson Trophy in his no.57 (pictured) version of the model 44.
Since Graeme got their first he has, I believe, control
