It was designed for use equally on land and water.
I tried googling the "world's ugliest amphibian" and I got a picture of an ugly frog.

Something like that yes, with the floats digitally removed.

Except that the floats were not detachable.

Except that the floats were not detachable.
So it landed as a land-plane on the floats (with wheels obviously!)

If you look at my silhouette and not yours, you will see that the wheels are fixed beneath the floats.
