I doesn’t really matter what the tinhat people say. They all see what is on the horizon, and they know they can’t change it.
Pfizer (the latest numbers I have seen) give about 40% protection after the first jab, and nearly 90% after the second. Compare that to 0% protection for the anti-vax group.
Add the protection against severe Covid for the vaccinated group.
Anti-vax people are the main reason for Covid to spread, and the majority of the hospital cases.

Vaccines are not mandatory. Fine, don’t take it, but be a grown up and stop whining about it. Live with the consequences.

Someone made the claim that death rates of those vax’d are higher with Delta. At the same time was the claim that those vax’d are passing it along ‘the same’ as the unvax’d.

Here is a study that shows vax’d healthcare workers are having lower levels of virus when it does break through the vaccine.

I may be wrong, but I'd suggest a substantial majority of Qantas employees will be vaccinated, even those who are not entirely happy with a mandatory requirement to do so. I'd be surprised if there are any more than a few Pilots who won't do so; although I do know one.

I also think the majority of QF employees will get vaccinated. The pragmatic thinkers that is.

While I think that anti vaxers lack the critical thinking skills necessary for this job, I really admire their rugged individualism. I hope that they have the courage of their convictions and ride off into the sunset alone and aggrieved. Otherwise, their objections are all just so much BS.

^^^^ absolutely, I will have enormous respect for them, when they buggar off with their beliefs intact and leave those of us who are ‘sheepies’ to carry on with our careers at Qantas. I wish them all the luck in the world with whatever career they choose.

I’ve changed tack at work. I don’t fight the anti-vaxxers any more. The way I see it, some of these guys are going to get infected and probably lose their medicals. Some of them will resign out of ideology. As long as they’re ahead of me in seniority, I may even encourage their ‘individual freedom’.

Page after page of opinions by pilots on medicine. One can only imagine the huff that pilots would be in if doctors suddenly started telling pilots how to do their job.

There is some good stuff being published on the internet. Dr Mike Hansen is one of the best, and he shows the source data papers he take his information off.

Not just the pilot in me. I’ve come to recognise that we’re all competing for a finite amount of resources. If people want to sacrifice themselves and leave more resources for my family, I’m ok with that. Just look at the USA where people dropping dead are overwhelmingly the unvaccinated. I may be wrong but I think your respondent may have been making oblique reference to the inherent selfishness of the stereotypical Australian airline pilot and your resemblance to that image. He got you in one there.

Considering you want others to consent to experimental chemical therapy so YOU can get on with YOUR life or career or whatever, it is hypocritical in the extreme to accuse anyone else of being selfish. Regardless of who wants what outcome at least have the decency to admit you have only your own best interests at heart as you push your own desired outcome. You, your family, whomever, that's YOUR interest. Stop accusing others of selfishness when you demand everyone else conform to what suits you.

Yes, I admit my points are selfish but they’re borne out of exasperation. I have given up, good luck to you when exposed to the virus.
