Is there a function to automatically "like" every new post written by cLeArIcE?

I’m not being sarcastic.

Never worked there, I got paid from day 1 at my first airline

I'm happy for you.

How about the following airlines?

How about the GA jobs before the first airline?

Mainline Pilots don’t work for free but they pay for their own endorsements by accepting a training wage.

Putting the blame and responsibility for better conditions on new hires is total cop out and I've got mine attitude from those who actually have the power to change.

If we actually want to see the industry achieve better EBA's then the change needs to come in from the top.

Check and trainers, Senior Captains and long term FO's have the power in the EBA negotiations, not the young bloke hoping to get off his 402 and out of GA.

The reality is there is simply not that many options in Australia and if he doesn't take the job someone else will. Expecting them to sacrifice their career on principle while the top earners won't sacrifice a cent of their earnings is blame shifting to those with no power.

The day we see the Senior Captains fighting for the rights and conditions of the junior FO's is the day we see change and improvement all round, unfortunately Australian culture is based on selfishness and greed so those who have the power will never sacrifice for anything other than preserving their own interests and then complain about those below them

Never a truer word spoken. 👏
The FYIGM mentality is strong across all airlines I've worked for.

Could somebody please explain life I'm five the recent changes at JQ around the EBA? I'm trying to get my head around it but sifting through all of the hate fueled posts in the other thread is doing my head in.

The meaning of life has long been sought by successive generations. The best example I have found will probably be little use to you, however:
"Life is without meaning. You bring the meaning to it. The meaning of life is whatever you ascribe it to be. Being alive is the meaning." - Joseph Campbell.
I have no idea how to relate this to a Jetstar EBA, but good luck - being five, you've got a few years for things to be ironed out before you need to worry too much!

You must be thinking of the 78 bloke who contracted TB and was medically grounded after engaging in some unusual cultural practices.

The vast majority of the type ratings are in Bangkok from what I’ve heard, with some in Southampton UK, but I think there haven’t been any there for a few months now.

No idea on the weight of the sim ride but if you don’t bust any minimas and keep in tolerance on the approaches you should be fine. They’re also looking for your ability to show improvement as you go and after a short ‘teaching’ opportunity so if you finished stronger than you starter, that’s a good sign.

Don't panic, there is an ongoing requirement for 20 new pilots a month. The delay is lack of worldwide simulator slots for type ratings. If you have a pulse and didn't do something stupid during the recruitment process you stand an excellent chance

Judging by how busy rosters are and the amount of wdos and cancelled flights, even the pulse and doing something stupid might not be a deal breaker.

Yep. Show up with a set of Ray Bans, a white shirt and a winning smile and you are on your way to Jetstar glory.
