Jetstar Aus/NZ Positions
Once the Reserve Bank recession we had to have is in full swing I can see the XLRs being deferred for a couple of years. As to who will fly them it will be like the 787s, wherever they can make the most money out of them is where they will be allocated.
Would they go down the road of group secondments like Network did, or too hard basket?

XLR’s, a few airlines are planning 11.5 hour legs on them but with much more appropriate pax configs. I have been told the LR’s are targeting 9-9.5 hours with reserves. As for the recruitment Jetstar are taking 250 cadets from the Qantas Flight Academy to plug the gap whilst they figure out where all the new pilots are coming from.As far as I am aware Jetstar are taking 20 of the XLR orders.

Apparently so, judging by the responses in this thread. Why bother? For some, it's their first shiny jet job and let's be real, which pilot doesn't aspire to fly a jet at some point in their career? Short term pain, for long term gain.
And an attitude like that is the reason WHY they don’t frigging pay you during your type rating!

You’ll get paxd to Thailand for your a320 TR in economy if you’re a male. Confirmed business if female, even if the males have seniority over you.
Yep it seems like it. I believe you can claim back allowances etc after your commencement date.
How do they get around it - probably cause people will continue to apply and put up with it ie myself.
Plan on 2 months no income at a guess.

Seriously consider if it's worth it before you say yes to a start date and how you are going to survive.
