Yet announced 13 new routes around Europe including Liverpool & Dublin, if their backers are prepared to stick it out who knows. Blue Air only fell foul of their Government interference.

Dan Air's aircraft is based in Romania, not the UK. They will land at LTN twice per week at 0925 and depart at 1025... rather quiet times for commercial airlines, long after the Easyjet and Wizzair morning waves have departed

Yes, looking at tomorrow there are plenty of slots available between 9-10, only 2 sheduled arrivals and 4 departudes. Hence a few interesting movements for the AI conference at Bletchley Park for the spotters.
I seem to remember Blue Air used to arrive at that time.

So everything is not rosey at Wizzair. Not to worry, Luton will have a plan B if they fail.

This comes amid Wizz Air Holdings share prices falling to lower than during the Covid-19 pandemic and it made a net loss of €535.1 million in the 12 months leading up to March 2023.

Last Gatwick flight 3rd November, first Luton flight 11th November. Not sure why they would go face to face with Wizz. Any flights to Bacua from Stansted? If not they would have been better off going there or staying put at Gatwick. At least they could then advertise a short walk to the terminal rather than a trek.

Unserved from STN so may have been a nice fit there, or Southend even! Still good to see another airline at LTN.

Not an Easyjet shareholder either then, 2016 shares £15.74, today £3.83.
The thing is Wizzair can service a loss & debt.

I see Wizz now occupy part of the old Monarch HQ. Shhh, no one is meant to know in case those pesky CCJ’s get delivered there instead of a cupboard with a letterbox in the depths of the terminal.

Did know they were going to be the occupier many months ago.

On a separate note, KLM have cancelled almost everything at Schiphol this afternoon due to inbound Storm, friend was on them to LCY, rebooked with Easyjet to Luton, bet those seats will fill fast.

Pabely the share price today for Ryan Air is down 2.2 percent. Wizzair shares have increased by 5.6 percent.

.

Now that space is available for rent then that’s a good thing!

More changes to the drop off and pick up arrangements. Cars are now split into two lines after turning towards the mid term. Barriers are still up but the left hand barrier is for the pick up area while the right hand barrier is for drop off, which is anywhere in the midterm.

There is now a marquee by the fire station. This isn’t in use yet for people waiting to be picked up

It is surprising how many people lack appropriate garments when it is pouring with rain at Luton. I am thinking they are unaware that the undercover drop off area is no more. This guy has pushed a wheelchair without a coat or even a jumper. He was not happy.

Some folk were better dressed but were all pulling faces and looked miserable.

I have seen folks emerge from the Canaries in shorts, t-shirt and sandals in mid-winter.

Done it myself, 35C at SSH, waiting for the TUI 757, arrived Luton at Midnight -2C. Shorts, T-shirt & Flip Flops didn't really cut it!

With the rain pounding on the windows I have say I feel sorry for those poor saps walking to the drop off tonight in their flip flops for that unique Luton experience. Unfortunately there is no fix for probably at least 18 months.

The fire was on 10 October, ie over 3 weeks ago. I think many of the people flying into LTN who are walking to the former midterm car park will be aware of the consequences of the fire, either from when they flew out of Luton at the start of half term, by an email from their airline or by word of mouth. People are generally aware that November in the UK means lousy weather. If you choose to walk around London in November in summer clothes and find it cold and wet... well that's on you.

I have flown on multiple occasions from southern Europe to northern Europe in winter... people wear T-shirts or light clothing during the flight, but after landing and while waiting to disembark, large amounts of heavy coats and winter clothes seem to emerge from hand luggage.

People should dress more appropriately, but equally having such a long walk to a pick-up area without any shelter is unusual - even if caused by exceptional circumstances. As LTNman says, it's going to take a long time to sort out and I don't see the airport trying to put up temporary shelter.

In other news a couple more A321neos have been delivered to Wizzair UK in the last few weeks. Looking at FR24 it shows that all the 11 based first wave Wizzair UK departures tomorrow are now A321s. Of those 9 are NEOs.

Despite the claims from Airbus that the A321 Neo is quieter and the stats from the airport that the A321Neo is actually noisier my ears tells me regardless of the type they all loud and disturbing regardless of the Airbus type.
