Stand capacity
No new stands until 2018, first phase of MAN-TP, Pier 1. Stands 101-112 and, 120-143 , off the top of me 'ead. N.B. Numbers aren't fully sequential so that is not as many stands as it sounds!

Stand capacity.
roverman, how many remote stands will we lose (e.g. 216-219 plus some opposite to the north west?) when Pier 1 is available? And does it impact the contact stands at the far end of T2?

Nice if it went A350 and daily in both directions, too. Probably won't happen right away as that would commit at least two frames to the route.

3 on the current timetable (time lapse from leaving SIN to getting back there is nearly 54 hours) however they are due to receive 4 more by mid Feb, so it's plausible.

Someone asked about T2 stands and MAN-TP. Pier 1 as designed largely occupies the space which is currently Staff West and Long Stay 3? car parks.
No existing T2 contact stands are lost to build this pier. Existing remotes 216-219 go, together with 245-249 and 86-86. Some of the 'lost' stands are reborn in a new configuration and numbering.

staff west
i have heard 3 rumours from round the airport as to whats going on with staff west, some i doubt.
one i have heard that some of the cabin crew are being sent to carrington and being bused in from there.
second is that everyone its being moved from staff west round to near or on the viewing park and that the viewing park is being moved south side near to where it was originally. i am sure that there are tas members out there that could shed some light on the viewing park move and if its true or not.
the third is from busing and that their depot at hale top is being move to motor transport and being based from there and that the site is being used for a multi story car park with under cover bus stops.
the last one makes is more likely looking at the plans. the current area 7 car park is to be made into a multi story car park with a ground car park running out over hale top over Sydney ave and into the top corner of whats now T2 long stay. i could see this being the new staff car park and the new multi story car park set to be built on where T2 meet and greet is now will become T2 long stay.
what ever happens something needs to be done quick because any increase in staff next year will need car park improvements as some will know if you have tried getting on staff west at 9-10 in the morning. its down to its last 50 to 100 spaces. any increase in staff and it will be chaos on there next march.

Forgive me for asking as I'm sure its been mentioned but me being lazy I cant be bothered to go through the older pages. What days do we see 2 SIA 77W's on the ground at once with the service not being daily?

Cheers Turin - I suppose like most of the best plans they will be pushed back but good to see that we are in the queue.
I expected a frequency increase to coincide with the move to a smaller aircraft due to the capacity loss but that might be a reflection of the route bedding in...

Staff West is soon to be relocated at "The Clough" which is between the Romper and the viewing park. The convoluted entry and exit lanes making for some interesting queuing times at shift changeover

Air Canada
Following on from the rumour of an Air Canada mainline MAN-YVR service next year. Just announced is a Rouge service Gatwick to Vancouver.
Does this make a MAN-YVR more or less likely ? I would of thought it would have been offcially announced at the same time if it was happening, so I guess doesn't look good.

One suspects it would of always been Rouge and not Mainline if they do operate a service. The Gatwick service is just moving capacity from YYZ for them.
Still time for it to come
