SOUTHEND 5
There are no Tuesday flights in May to CFR, FMO and GRQ, although FMO has a flight on 26/5 (after the Bank Holiday).
The ramp scene yesterday morning was interesting with a Flybe Q400 and S2000 waiting on Bravo for stands to clear at one stage. Good to see that SEN Ops made every effort to accommodate the diversions. Stands 13 and 14 were used by BE and BA aircraft (12 having a Citation on it) with pax being bussed to the terminal.

With a bit of guidance and operational nous even with a citation on stand 12 you can fit a S2000 next to it and still get the citation out. Lack of experience ?
Not all the stands are in use due to tarmac issues etc and some are actually restricted so SEN does not have the available 100% capacity everyone is referring to
Q) EGTT/QMPLC/IV/BO /A /000/999/5134N00042E
A) EGMC
B) 15/03/31 08:00 C) 15/06/30 18:00
E) ACFT STANDS 9 AND 16 U/S. ACFT STANDS 8 AND 10 ONLY AVBL TO ACFT SIZE DH8D OR SMALLER
On a second note why on the new Southend website executive handling part they are using pictures that are quite clearly not SEN !! Surely its misrepresentation as it does not say its a "stock image"

I believe the fact that stands 9 and 16 are u/s has been mentioned a number of times so nobody is suggesting SEN has 100% stand availability. The aircraft size restrictions on stands 8 and 10 wouldn't cause any practical difficulties for diversions nor at virtually any other time. It's not that uncommon at many airports to have such size restrictions in place on some stands.
I think it's a little unfair to criticise the efforts of SEN Ops on this occasion; certainly in the recent past that may have been justified but I hope that they are now applying a more positive attitude than previously.

my posting was mainly in response to Southends own website who had the following link to their twitter page
It was a bit of a busy morning today! Good to see all the stands in use. Thanks to Henry from ATC for the images. http://t.co/N7lfePE7g
Explain that one?

And the website...
Just checked the website and it repeats the lie!
SEN has so much going for it that there really is no need to lie. But by doing so it raises the question; what else are the owners not being honest about?
Be transparent. Be open and honest. Be competitive on pricing and businesses will respond.

Website says SEN is a 20 minutes drive from the M25
At 3 am with no traffic and no roadworks and doing 60 mph on the A127, that claim could almost certainly be shown to be valid

19 miles
Executive handling website says 15 mins.
At a constant 76 miles per hour you can do the distance in 15 mins.
With 30 mph, 40 mph and 50 mph camera controlled speed limits 30 mins is the quickest you can legally do it.

EI-REM - Aircraft info and flight history - Flightradar24
Looks like EI-REM is back from Germany to take over the BE routes again.

Website
Any idea why the airport's website appears to be down at the moment? Not making things 'simply easier' for their passengers currently, but maybe they are putting in translated versions of the site? Just a thought...

I timed it once mid afternoon and it took 28 minutes with no hold-ups at all so 15 minutes is clearly impossible in the extreme. Mind you, total time from aircraft steps to M25 was 41 minutes (hand baggage only) so I suppose that would compare quite well to LTN and STN overall.
I think the point is that with the advantage of quick terminal transit times why not emphasis that rather than tell porkies about road travel times and waste goodwill?

Around 15-20 minutes for biz jet passengers depending which FBO is used.
Adria
The Adria website shows the inaugural MBX-SEN flight next Monday as being operated by an A320. Wikipedia states that one such Danish Air Transport aircraft operates for Adria. Subsequent flights seem to be on the CRJ900.

Adria
It's a pity the aircraft will be wearing DAT's livery as opposed to Adria's. It would also be interesting to see if at the launch they announce the continuation of the route into W15/16 as they stated that a decision would be made by the end of May.
