Looks as if the Carpatair route to Chisinau is on distinctly thin ice. Airline filed for insolvency but plans to carry on flying for now
Only operating a Moldova- Venice route according to another place and terminated all Romanian scheduled services a week ago.

Oh dear, Carpatair is a sorry saga by the sounds of it. Well I don't suppose it'll have much impact, if any & if there's demand for the route going forward perhaps Wizz will take a look at it?
Great news on the El-Al front. They seem to be goring from strength to strength. With the easyJet flights too, Tel Aviv must be fast becoming one of Luton's most popular routes.
On the subject of routes, does anyone know if there's any potential new operator for the Luton - Jersey route this summer? I can't recall a year when the route didn't operate during the summer months at least so hopefully someone will be persuaded to give it a go, question is who?

It seems FlyBE won't be returning to Luton anytime soon...
I just read they are launching a three times weekly service between Southend and Newquay, to replace the service easyJet are dropping.
I would imagine Southend will try and use this as some leverage to launch other new routes with the airline in the foreseeable future.
I was also surprised to see on the FlyBE route map on their website, they are flying Stansted to Dundee.
Great shame FlyBE could not be kept at Luton, if they had maintained their Jersey and Isle of Man services, we could have also looked at picking up these routes to Dundee, Newquay and the long rumoured Guernsey route, that looks like will now not happen.

Aren't Flybe getting funding to support both the Newquay & Dundee routes?
It's a great shame that we've lost routes like Isle of Man & Jersey and hard to think who might reasonably pick them up in the future?
I did wonder if easyJet might have another go at Jersey, at least on a seasonal basis, but I guess not. The route has been part of the Luton summer schedule for as long as I can remember so surely there must be some demand for it?

Is it a great shame flybe couldnt be kept? They seem to be a mess shooting in all directions with no clue as to what they are doing. How much longer will they be around realistically?
Better someone else comes in and picks up those routes who have a sustainable plan for the future. If nobody new takes them on eventually we must accept the routes are just not worthy of operating.

If there was the demand for 5-6 daily Guernsey flights a day from LGW - why wouldn't there be the demand from LTN?
I know you could use this theory for all of the LGW airlines and it doesn't work like that - but it's 30 minutes into London regardless of which airport you're at? A 06:00 GCI departure and a 19:00 LTN departure would surely work!

ImPlaneCrazy I completely agree. The Jersey & Isle of Man routes have proven over the years that they can be successful from Luton & I see no reason why Guernsey couldn't work too. The problem is, with Flybe now out of the picture who is realistically likely to pick up these routes? I'm struggling to think of a potential operator
