Signature FBO development

Signs on adjacent fences indicate demolition of the current older Signature hangars (ex Mc Alpine) will start on 20th April.....More history vanishing!

The water arch for the Nostrum, costly to the fire station allegedly! I bet you don't see one of those tenders for a few weeks!

Hmm....Plenty of egg on faces up at MAN this week when a water arch for the new Virgin MAN-ATL A330 service turned into half a foam arch (someone pressed the wrong button in one of the appliances!!)

It caused a 24hr delay as the aircraft had to undergo checks after the foam got in an engine)

I see Arkia Israeli Airlines has operated a flight in from Tel Aviv this morning arriving at 4:35. It is outbound at 7:35 rather than its scheduled departure time of 6:50. Is this the start of a summer charter programe for Israelis?

Also a couple of Transavia's are due in from Amsterdam within half hour of each other at 8:50 and 9.20

I think your find your wrong as it had absolutely nothing to do with MAN as the incident involving the foam instead of a water arch was at ATLANTA.

Sorry Canberra 97 the ´´foam´´ incident was at Manchester. The flight was due to depart to Atlanta.
Another Transavia today going to Clermont Ferrand taking the Northampton rugby team and supporters to play Clermont Auvergne in the European Cup.
Hopefully will be getting more continental based charter airlines now that Monarch have decided not to operate charter flights even though they help to sponsor Northampton Rugby.

I suspect they're trying to get FR to shift their CPH ops to STN. EZY seem to be abandoning their (very long running) STN-CPH route as of W15.

I imagine that in the end EZY will get CPH to themselves at LTN with FR switching to STN. When it comes to staging the battle at LTN there is only ever going to be one winner.

Google is your friend Canberra 97!......Anyway, its about time these "water arches" are re-evaluated as there have been plenty of incidents in the past and its pretty pointless anyway!

Could Air Nostrum bring more routes to Luton if their new Vigo service does well? There are a few thinner Spanish routes which could work for them - I'm thinking Oviedo, Granada......

wallp - I agree it would be nice to see some of the quieter Spanish airports served from London.

Is the London-Oviedo market large enough to support another carrier in competition with Easyjet ?
Separately, is it feasible for Air Nostrum to fly Luton-Granada in competition with IAG operating London City-Granada, given the relationship between Iberia and Air Nostrum ?

I quoted Oviedo & Granada as a couple of for instances but I'm sure there must be some other routes in Span which could work well for Air Nostrum?

The potential within the Spanish market is huge so hopefully they can tap into this beyond Vigo?
