Czech to PRG
Don't ask me how but have found there is a bookable flight on the CZ website BHX-PRG on 23rd June leaving BHX at 18.35 on an A319. Can't however find anything bookable inbound for that date or any other flights in either direction for any other dates/months through the summer....it seems rather strange? This flight also searchable and bookable on various flight comparison sites. Anyone got any ideas? Is LPL closed on that day?!

W15/16 Charters
Nice to see some expansion of Ski Flights:
Germania have a B737-700 on Saturday lunchtime from Chambery for Inghams, replacing their seat allocation on Flybe scheduled flights
Flybe have a scheduled Geneva flight on Saturdays
Thomson have a new flight to Verona on Saturday mornings
Titan Airways return with the Chambery charter on Sundays
On the negative side, it appears that the weekly Kittila flights by Monarch have been dropped

Winter 2015/6 & Barcelona
Barcelona
Norwegian join the fray tomorrow and Vueling settles into its regular pattern tomorrow but it will be Friday before we see four operators on the same day.
I can remember a few routes getting three operators at one time but never four between the same city pairs where one is BHX.
Flybe add a third weekday Jersey from tomorrow and Deauville later in the month.
Shannon returns of course on the 18th.
Enter Air start 22 June with three flights a week.
To add a bit of reality Ryanair reduce flights tomorrow for June, mainly Dublin from four daily to three other than Sunday when it is two and Alicante which sees both Thursday services removed for June.
Winter 2015/6
Monarch Geneva on a Saturday has gone now they don't do charters and I was under the impression the Germania and flybe were replacements. Flybe is odd as it has a scheduled flight number and has been bookable for months but nothing on their website.
Lufthansa upgrades in winter - LH952/3 when it operates is an A321 although 956 reverts to the 320. Munich is showing as 319 on the LH2508 morning and night-stop 2512 with just the LH2510 as Cityline.

Flybe, Ryanair & Aer Lingus
mart901
Where are you seeing this? Is it the UK site?
I can see June 6 a week with some dates sold out, reducing to 5 a week in August but returning to 6 a week in September and then three a week in winter.
Although Ryanair seem to have stagnated at BHX, winter is up and it would be a real surprise if they blinked first on Barcelona.
Flybe
Three daily Milan Monday, Wednesday and Friday from the 2nd September up from two
Aer Lingus
Winter - Thursday and Friday Dublin now showing a 5th flight by A320. Shannon operates at the same time but without an aircraft to to do it as Cork is in 20.40 out 21.15. I assume some changes coming.

Easyjet at bhx
Why does the easyjet flight from bfs have to get parked at gate 59 at all times, its ridiculous that passengers have to be bussed to the domestic arrivals...surely they should have the same access as flybe?

I am no great authority on this but I believe that only Ryanair and flybe op from T1(old BA Terminal) and there isn't any further space there for Easyjet.
The pier Easyjet use also has international arrivals and I think that is why busses are used for domestic arrivals. Flybe do also have to use busses for the remote stands that they have to use.

There are plans for a new low cost pier that will join on the end of the International pier and run adjacent to the railway line behind the 70/80s remotes.
However suspect BHX would want a commitment from someone like Norwegian or Easy Jet for a base, before they would commit to building it.

dantheflyboy :
Your comments are pretty much spot on , Eastern airways also use the old T1 for the NCL flight.
Nigel :
The old masterplan has gone out the window . This is from the Birmingham airport site :
"We have been awaiting the outcome of the Airports Commission before doing this but now that Birmingham Airport has not been shortlisted for a potential second runway we will soon be consulting the community on an updated Master Plan so that their views can be taken into account when preparing the new plan."

The domestic pier is still very much an option and appears on their latest amended masterplan drawing(Feb 2015) which I obtained 2 months ago. Now stuck proudly to a large aviation notebook I have.
The new masterplan shows another pier far side of the Eurohub and remotes to the left of that, new fuel farm further left, low cost pier as described and even another hangar behind the current MAEL one around the other way dorming a T.
They cannot wait for the airport commissions report, bearing in mind both Gatwick and LHR say they will launch appeals if they are not chosen and then if unsuccessful will demand judicial reviews, and then if necessary the EU supreme courts .
So the final outcome of that might be in er..say..2030 !
If BHX are able to secure a new LCC base sure they will go for the LCC pier.

Yes,originally known as Eurohub, then when BA pulled the plug became known as T2.
Although now we are a 1 terminal operation I think it is sometimes called the south terminal.

Interesting stuff.
Is the updated masterplan available to the public yet? I can't seem to find it anywhere.
So with talk of this new LCC pier does this mean the toast rack idea for a new remote pier in between the 70s and 80s has been scrapped?
Also, is the South Terminal refurb still happening? Last I heard they were scrapping the old jetways.
Thanks
