As a service I use quite regularly, I'm surprised that no one has noticed that the BE BHD-EXT flight has been brutalised down to three a week. Utterly unusable for business. Any other BE routes been suriptiously butchered?

Bhd-Ext has been reduced until may 16 when a daily service resumes until September.

Vueling

Didn't Vueling do three flights a week last year from Belfast City?
Seems to be only two flights a week for this summer (Thurs & Sunday) on sale.

They started twice weekly at start of season then three weekly during peak summer season. Last year not great so maybe reducing frequency this year

Ambrose said a few months ago in an interview that the Vueling service was operating at a 60ish% load factor. If this were the case it would be well worth maintaining last years frequency and trying to build on the fairly good load factor. As the load factor was actually closer to 40% it is clear the airline have decided not to put too much effort into the 'soon to be pulled altogether' service. Perhaps the substantial, but undisclosed financial support was only for year 1.

mart901 if you are right, and is suspect you are, we should endeavour to find out how much support they were given and ask if the this will be repaid in light of the fact that the operation only lasted such a short time.

How did this route ever receive support? Was it not the case when the route support fund was in place before, probably 6 or 7 years ago, that support was not available on city pairs already served, such as Belfast - BCN or Belfast - AMS?

It certainly appears that the adverts out the front of BHD are changing from Hola Barcelona to Adios Amigos!

Yeah. Confirmed gone. Julian O'Neill has tweeted a statement from BHD confirming the route has been axed.

The absolute hatrid towards BHD is actually quite shocking for me. If I was in the city, BHD seems like the obvious choice with BFS being miles out.

Funny how Dubliners will suggest that BFS, a mere 25 minutes from Belfast, is far, yet Dublin Airport is 'only' 1.5 hours away and should be the first choice out of Belfast.
