Ryanair will have only one based 737 this summer

Car park 1 has been closed for quite a while as the car park barriers have been removed.

The hoardings between departures and arrivals hall have been removed
But not much happening in this area.

Germania 737 operated flight this week from
Bournemouth.

Good news although a long way off is finally Bath Travel / Hays are getting back into the Fly Cruise operation from Bournemouth again , these flights have always been incredably popular and always went out full . At one point a few years ago there were over 13 flights in the winter to Barbados

From winter 2015 P & 0 cruises will be operating 3 flights to Barbados i am guessing with Thomson 767 300 although maybe these aircraft might have gone and we could see the 787 Dreamliner operating these flight s which would be a real coup for Bournemouth

In the meantime they are also doubling the flights to the Med next summer with 4 charters to Genoa / Venice

Tomorrow sees a one way charter to Barbados using a Thomson 767 at 11am

Thanks for the regular analysis markeyd.

On another note, surprised that no-one yet speculating what KLM will do with the spare Fokker 70 that is no longer operating the twice daily AMS-Manston.

BOH has to be an option under consideration..

Flitefone you may find that KLM City Hopper has started to retire its fleet of Fokker 70's. So it maybe the case that there is no spare aircraft option for them to start a Amsterdam - Bournemouth link.

They probably have a few options on the table with the spare Fokker... and from KLM's viewpoint, they already have the middle south coast covered with Flybe's AMS flight which is a KLM codeshare.

Thomson Summer 2015 offering from Bournemouth is a carbon copy of this year using there based B 737 800

However they are returning to Tunisia on a Sunday using a Nouvelair A320 in at 0915 / 1015 . This is the first expansion they have had in quite a few years from BOH as they normally seem to juggle the based a/c about to different places

Palma continues as 4 a week and Sharm returns again in Sept

Easy Jet are once again returning for next winter on the Geneva route which is great news . Its a similar programe as this year with only the month of Jan seeing less flights operating during the week with a double Saturday flight operating and the A320 being used at weekends throughout the season

Corendon are operting a few extra flights to Antalya at the end of Oct and April next year again

Not sure what's going on with Aer Lingus Dublin route but it looks like it abruptly stops on the 14 Sep and no further booking after that !

Bournemouth handled 62 , 791 passengers in April up 1.5 % on last April

Thomson saw high 90 % loads on all there routes including an early start to there Rhodes and Palma services

Rather harder to work out Ryanair for April as always a varied start on schedules but worked out at about 70 % loads on most flights

Ryanair have also released there winter flights from BOH and good news is they are continuing a small non based aircraft operation with flights to the following

Tenerife Thu 1130 -- 1155
Malaga Wed / Sun 0940 -- 1005
Alicante Sun 1740 -- 1805 and Thu 1055 -- 1120

With no Med flights this winter from Southampton hopefully loads will be good on the Malaga and Alicante routes

No flights to LPA or ACE however as loads throughout the winter season were pretty low

Shame Aer Lingus looks to be stopping Dublin early in Sept , Bournemouth just does not seem able to hold down any routes for very long except the Med ( Manchester , Dublin , Glasgow etc )

Come to the conclusion after years and years of living in the area BOH is purely a bucket and spade Airport. Air Lingus didn't really help themselves by having poorly timed flights for business users..and Flybe have it sorted from SOU.

Think the holiday destinations could expand more in the future with with reduction of such flights from SOU..but can never really see more than that for BOH. Possibly a Polish route again at some point as no competition from SOU..but again Wizzair and FR tried and failed.

Rubbish transport links will always hold it back I fear..

While I agree that it is odd that the summer Dublin schedule now seems to stop in September rather than continue until the end of October, there was the same concern over the winter schedules this time last year.

Looks like Aer Lingus Regional have loaded there winter schedule into the system and Bournemouth is the only destination not covered from 26 Oct so looking like its been cancelled , very disappointing news
The 2013/14 winter schedule was not released until 27th July!! See post #556

So perhaps not time to give up all hope yet!

I agree that Bourenmouth and only seems to do well with the Med style routes , niche one off charters and fly cruises etc

Wroclaw with Ryanair operated for the last 2 summer seasons 2012 / 13 which saw loads in the 7 months run at about 82% and 87% respectivly ( no idea about the good old yield though ) but was lead to believe it only stopped this summer beacause of the availabilty of Ryanair aircraft

I think BOH is very low priority when Airlines are looking at routes..as proved with your FR to Wroclaw statistics. If there is a choice of where to use an aircraft.. BOH will usually be the loser..sure now economy is picking there maybe the odd extra FR route in the next couple of years..Easyjet do not even consider anything to compliment the Geneva route...which is very successful..

Rumour that Flybe are working on a 3 aircraft base for BOH next summer season with the following routes:

Manchester
Glasgow
Edinburgh
Belfast
Jersey
Guernsey
Amsterdam
Dublin
Dinard
Nantes
Nice

Heard that they are splitting some crew from SOU dash fleet. Expectation is 11 daily flights but not sure of route breakdown. Expecting 450,000 pax year 1.

Source is close.

Interesting if it turns out to be true, all of those routes operate ex. SOU with the exception of Dinard, although I'd thought they's try it from SOU before BOH considering how strong it is for the regional french routes. Unless there is a significant connection with BOH and the Dinard area I'd expect it might be swapped for one of the more established regional France destinations such as Bergerac or Brest/Rennes if that list is not final.

If true I wonder why they think BOH would be better bet that SOU. Maybe they are trying to get a better deal at SOU and this is a lever?

It works both ways.

With SOU's airport rail station and ease of motorway access were FlyBE to dare exit SOU then someone would PDQ move in to replace them, maybe someone like CityJet.

I'd dare FlyBE to move out of SOU, I'd just dare them!

That really is an interesting development if it becomes reality !

Just a question for those in the know , is the old arrivals terminal building still there ? sandwiched between the departures and arrivals hall or has it been knocked down now ? I know there is a large gap between the 2 buildings which was always going to be used i guess to eventually join the 2 buildings together
