Sorry Happy I was out of the country for a few days. In response to your post I was merely reflecting upon the quality of the two ladies in question, not their gender.

Bournemouth handled 83 , 922 passengers in September down 3 % on last year , again mainly due i think to Flybe at Southampton operating so many extra services to the Med in competition with Ryanair ?

Dublin saw 2032 passengers with a load factor of about 39 pax on an ATR 42

Thomson saw average loads of 95 % and Ryanair just behind with 92 %

Ryanair have started to load there summer 14 schedule but it is exact same image as this summer at the moment

September pax traffic actuals

Slight fall in September numbers at BOH likely due to the hot summer, both RYR and EZy have forecast lower profits due to a fall in UK traffic attributed to UK hot weather.

SOU Flybe options may also have been a factor, although most of the time Flybe has been significantly more expensive on like for like routes.

I expect October numbers for BOH to be equal to or higher than last year, the weather has turned, and all those dorset locals that depend on UK tourism for their income this summer are heading off for their own breaks now.

They were too busy in the summer to get away.

Interesting to see at SOU that domestic UK trunk routes are improving again and good growth on Amsterdam too.

Pray where could you tell me where you saw that easyJet stated that there profits would be lower due to UK having a so-called good summer weatherwise. I cannot find anywhere on the the company website, in fact the latest statement says that profits would be slightly ahead of forecast. As for Ryanair - spin.

Compton, you are right, the profit warnings mentioning softer demand were from Ryanair and aer lingus, in their September trading updates, it was not Ryanair and Easyjet. My mistake.

EZY is having a cracking year with remarkable loads and profits.

I did though have a conversation with an analyst also in September who said that demand for sun routes from UK had been impacted across the board.

Easyjet are clearly benefitting from their strategy to get a bigger slice of the business market.

In context of BOH traffic the Ryanair statement is relevant.

Look like growth will be flat next year, do any of the usual soothsayers have an inkling on RYR and Thomson for S2014

2014

To answer pott, Ryanair results the other day give you a clue. See investor relations page on their web site. No new aircraft until a year from now, growth deal at Warsaw Modlin and MAG, otherwise flat. Overall plan is 2 percent up.

BOH therefore likely to be same as 2013 with I think a chance of a twice weekly Warsaw Modlin as an addition.

Ryr have agreed a growth deal at MAG and Warsaw. MAG airports of MAN, EMA and STN are already served from Warsaw Modlin, BOH is a logical addition.

Would expect Thomson to remain as per 2013.

How are the load factors so far on the winter RYANAIR flights?

Also, they have applied for AMS slots in S14. What are the chances of BOH getting an AMS service?

Bournemouth handled 70 , 091 passengers in October down 12 % on last year which is a surprise but possibly due to the extra flights that Flybe operated to the Med from Southampton

A one off charter to Barbados is being operated by P & O cruises on 21 March 2014 , not sure who is operating the flight but would imagine Thomson on the 767 300

This is good news as Bath Travel stopped fly cruises last year but with Hays Travel now in control it could be they re start this popular winter service next year

Well on closer inspection it isn't SOU denting the numbers because they also saw falls of 11% and 9% on ALC and AGP respectively. They did see an increase on PMI of 20% though as opposed to BOH-PMI which declined by 20%.

The CAA 'provisional statistics' should be amended upwards. BOH-WRO shows '0' pax but FR operated a full 16 flights to and fro on this route - not showing on the stats yet.

BOH's biggest declines during Oct'13 were Dalaman (-60%), Dublin (-33%), GRO (-23%), MHN (-20%), PMI as mentioned (-20%), , TFS (-15%), MJV (-14%) and FAO (-10%).

Others showed some positive signs such as RHO up 78%, PFO up 20%, FUE up 19%, LPA up 11%, ACE up 5%, PSA up 2% and IBZ up 1%.

Perhaps it's capacity related only? Rather than load factor?

October is always a funny month particularly for seasonal carriers. If a route runs a further rotation at the end of season, compared to the previous year, you could see a passenger increase of 100% (theoretically). You need to actually look at the numbers as a large increase/decrease on a small number may not be so significant.

Thomson / First Choice have released there winter 2014 / 15 programme from Bournemouth and at first glance pretty much the same as this year

Sharm returns at the start of Oct 14 again and continues throughout the winter until April 15 operating on a Thursday , slightly odd though is another service to Lanzarote also operating on a Thursday is this an extra service ?
The flight times are different of course which would indicate another aircraft being brought in to operate this service
The only reason i say this is that this year Thomson cancelled the Sharm route and put a Lanzarote route in its place and wondering if this might be a safeguard in case Sharm is cancelled again

Based 737 800 for winter 14 / 15 is as follows

Mon LPA 0820 1740

Tue TFS 0815 1735

Wed PFO 1020 2100 Nov / Apr/ Mar

Thu SSH 0900 2110 // ACE 1110 2000

Fri TFS 0900 1820

Sun TRN 0610 1100 ACE 1320 2215

The Barbados cruise charter with P & O has sold out in March 14 already which is good news but no real surprise as up to 9 flights in the winter used to operate and shows how popular this was

Germania is the airline operating the 3 flights to Bergen / Tromso and Kiruna in early 2014 and again very few seats left , good news

First EasyJet flight to Geneva starts again tomorrow ( Sat ) on a A320

Cobham

Cobham will be moving its northern Flight Inspection operation from DTVA (Durham Tees Valley Airport) to Bournemouth Airport - timescale not completely clear but seems soonish.

Can someone confirm if this is the Falcon 20 fleet or the Beechcraft turboprop fleet? Apparently it involves up to 5 aircraft being transferred which of course will be good news for BOH revenue.

Apparently the main 'base' for Cobham's northern operation at DTVA is not affected as it is under a 5 year contract.

Bournemouth handled 22 674 passengers in November up 22 % on last year due mostly to the fact Ryanair have continued a small winter programme of flights this year

Alicante 2910 132 pax
Malaga 3052 139 pax

Tenerife 4588 177 pax Thomson and 175 pax Ryanair
Arrecife 2567 184 pax Thomson and 135 pax Ryanair

Dublin continues to be a bit of a worry with only 981 passengers , averaging 29 pax per flight , Aer Lingus did however put this winter route on sale very late this year

A new holiday company ( Oska Travel ) is testing the water with 3 flights to Antalya using Corendon Airlines B 737 800 on 10 , 17 , 24 April

Pisa has been put on sale again with Ryanair but still no Wroclaw bookable

Ryanair have removed Wroclaw from the timetable for the summer 14 schedule the rest of the destinations remain bookable with extra flights in August to Malaga , Pisa and Lanzarote for the month of August . At the moment there is a 5 % drop in the programme , which isn't to bad at all considering the drop at other UK airports

There is still a gap in the flying programme with the BOH based a/c on a Tuesday afternoon at the moment but obviously there is still ongoing changes with the schedules

Aer Lingus have dropped the Wednesday service to Dublin in the summer making it 5 services a week on the ATR42
