It has been said that Vueling have announced this route however nobody has provided a link to back this as a source and there is no mention on the news section on their own website.
Admitedly they have it in their drop down menu however i believe this has been leaked and not officially announced by either airline or airport. It is the airline that decides when the airport and press can release the press release provided and no-one else. Rumours has it that an announcement is expected to be made tomorrow.
How many people have critisiced the airport for not bringing in the airlines now credit them when credits due afteral it's only fair.
As a member of the Wales Air Forum i am not going to discuss this further until the official announcement has been made. But we will provide the official statement as and when it is announced by the airport.
It is time to support Cardiff Airport now they are doing what we have all asked them to do and start bringing flights in.

Vueling should be an excellent addition for CWL, something (as others have said) to kick-start its recovery.
The pre-selection of a specific seat at a nominal fee will be a popular feature for those who want to take advantage of the facility - quite a lot I would imagine as the scramble for seats is a major complaint of many passengers on certain low-cost airlines.
The inability to pre-book a specific seat is certainly the one thing I dislike about using easyJet (or rather the ramifications sometimes are) and speedy boarding isn't always the answer.

Vueling
So with a fleet of 49 A320 and 1 A319, does anyone know where Vueling base their aircraft?
We could eventually see a replacement for the higher frequency sun routes more commonly known from CWL - AGP, ALC, PMI etc

Yes i seen that the Wales Air Network did run it with a banner etc however not sure who leaked it however it could be a case of somone too excited to keep their mouths quiet.
I have had no end of e-mails, texts all day looking for gossip on this and it's not a suprise that such brilliant news as this is generating such hype.
However the Wales Air Network is full of negativity about the airport management that i thought it's only right to not only congratulate them on this news and support their decision to wait for the official press release even though no doubt they are wanting to shout it from the rooftops.

As a member of the Wales Air Network (WAN), we are always, and have always been, supportive of the developments and ambitions of Cardiff, whether they be projected/supported by members of the management or not.
It comes to something when an airline releases official [new] route information / sales before an airport? Surely mathers you agree.
Yes, maybe it's being saved for a 'big fanfare event', which I certainly wouldn't disagree with...but, a bit of cross communication wouldn't go a miss!

It is a case that Barcelona - Cardiff is showing on the drop down menu of their website 24 hourse before a rumoured press release if what has been said here is anything to go by.
So somone has leaked this rumour with the airline name which has lead somone to look on the Vueling website and check the drop-down menu.
I imagine that the reservations has ensured that the systems is working correctly to take bookings as soon as the press release has been made.
But i stick by what i say that the airline choose when they want to announce the route and not the airport. So Cardiff Airport managements hands are tied similar to previous releases where Wales Online had released the press release 24 hours before the agreed press release date.
Do you blame that the airline want to make a fanfair of it? Didn't members of WAN say just exactly that? But now it won't be such a suprise since it's been on the net all day.

Vueling is a great little airline
I have had the fortune of taking a number of flights on Vueling post their merger with clickair
They have a good product. I liked the new style of seats with the magazine rack higher up, giving what felt like more leg room.
Their prices were good too and i have used their hub for transits. This is the new terminal at BCN. It worked very well. I connected TFN - ZRH via BCN and also did PMI - BRU via BCN. And i earned BA miles as i booked sectors via IB code on GDS for some of my trips.
They are travel agent freindly which is a bonus too.
Good on Vueling for seeing the gap at Cardiff. Fingers crossed this works well for them and the airport

ive booked my flights for april cost me £122 for two much cheaper than easyjet £333 plus card charges to be added on top for the same dates can,t wait now not flown out of cardiff for over 20 years always used bristol or birmingham

er, if you track back to the first reference on Pprune it was posted by someone who, if you look at their previous threads started, have a history of "announcing" new routes from regional UK airports to the world. I would hazard a guess that this is someone that is in the travel industry and books a lot of tickets and just notices these things. Alternatively it was some saddo who lurks on airline websites! Either way, its hardly surprising that it ended up on another site within hours. At least it was a rumour with some truth in it for a change!

Great news at long last. If people support this service then Cardiff destination will improve. I live so close to Cardiff Airport that I was just dreading a trip to Bristol. Lets hope that they add a few more destinations quickly. I bet anyone living in the South Wales or Gloucester area who has booked with Easyjet is pig sick that they could have traveled out of Cardiff and at a much cheaper price.

There's going to be a reason why there's such a discrepancy in price between Vueling and easyJet for April... one route has only just been put on sale and the other has been around for ages so passengers would have already booked on that service to get the "cheap" seats.
Therefore, for a better comparison, you need look at what the latest flights that Vueling currently has on offer: out 16th June back 21st June with 2 adults.
Vueling: £113.97 and easyJet £131.96.
Not that much of a difference plus the flexibility of daily flights by easyJet may still sway passengers from South Wales/South West England to not use Vueling.
Therefore, for a better comparison, you need look at what the latest flights that Vueling currently has on offer: out 16th June back 21st June with 2 adults.
