There is still a shuttle bus that connects with Rhoose station, it was facing the axe last year but the airport saved it hence, it still runs today!

What, it's safe to drive home after half a day in Florida, 9 (ish) hours in the air, perhaps a few sherbets during the crossing, then driving home when one's body clock is at around 1 o'clock the next morning?

P.S. Greetings KC
Regards MC

And when I got an airport taxi last year off a, routine, KLM sh1tty hopper, besides the wait the taxi was £9.00 for just up the hill to Tesco, that's around £3.00 per mile ... a pretty fair dinkum deal doesn't one think wshen the bus costs 80p?

CWL taxis.

You are lucky you could get a cab - nobody works there anymore as it does only cost £20k for a 6 seater, under 3 year old cab, £2 - £3k to insure, oh fuel/tyres/servicing etc. £9 to take you door to door 24/7 - scandalous !

04.30am arrival

Having been a transporter of pax, cases, crew etc at the time the plane lands, i.e. 04.30am, it usually took just over 1 hour for pax, cases, crew etc. to emerge from arrivals. The main problem was the "containerised" units where the luggage was stored, this took a while to unload 1 by 1, then add the odd belt breakdown, and the mandatory customs anything to declare 1 operative channel, the sun was usually on its way up as you walked out of arrivals......The next problem now is the trolley vendors only accept euro/gbp at a £2 charge. These flights and pax have a lot of luggage, so having a 2 pound chunk or 2x1 pound coins at that time of the morning might be rare.
Still. good news SFB is back, these flights were always full, and I remember the Thursday morning check ins where along with the other holiday flights, it would queue out of the door.

Very dissapointed in what i'm seeing here.

So instead of celebrating new routes from Cardiff Airport after a lot of doom & gloom in recent months all you have to discuss is the transport links.

Yes public transport is poor from Cardiff Airport but why not publicise it a bit more so passengers decide to use Bristol or Birmingham.

It is the constant negativity which contributes to the recent decline of the airport as general public can accidently come accross forums like these and others. Plus airline management tend to read these forums also.

Now public transport is another issue to be taken up with Welsh Government, Cardiff Council & Vale of Glamorgan Council.

Let's celebrate the recent news of Vueling, Monarch & Mahon with Thomas Cook and for once concentrate on the positives rather than the negatives for a change.

Shuttle was still running in September when I used it.

Only flown from CWL once, but had to get the train from Newport. Was very impressed with the service, change at Cardiff Central and then on a small train straight to Rhoose, hopping onto a little bus straight to the terminal - very smooth and efficient.

i assume then PF that when you land from FL at 0430 (should you ever use the service) you will leap off the aircraft onto the tarmac, run across the ramp, scale the fence and will be looking for a bus at 0431 ..nice idea if you like prison food !
