DIVERTS
Fog at Heathrow causing holding delays is the cause of the divert:
BA262 Riyadh-Heathrow Boeing 777-200 G-ZZZC
Earlier there was the possiblility of:
BA292 Washington-Heathrow Boeing 747-400 G-BNLR
although it was displayed on the Cardiff Airport flight boards it continued in the end to Heathrow and landed.
KLM Cancellations
The KL1059 & KL1063 flights inbound to Cardiff Airport were both cancelled meaning that our outbound KL1060 & KL1064.
I believe the same issues applied at Amsterdam with large holding delays and flights have had to divert and/or cancelled as fog set in for the most of the day.
Travel Disruption 20th/21st November
Weather forcast looking similar as today to may see the same issues affecting flights this evening and into tomorrow.
Cardiff Airport may see some more diverts but passengers may also experience some delays to their flights as a knock on effect.

I was in Cardiff city today and see that Thomas Cook are advertising Orlando for 2013 and understand that they are increasing their flights for 2012 to take over some of Baby's flights. Perhaps slowly things will get better.

Where did you see the Orlando flight advertised?
All I know of is an increase of 1 flight per week to PMI also what appears to be a one off FAO flight in Oct '12. Are there more?

China!!!!!!!!!!
Welsh Government want Cardiff – China flights : Cardiff Airport News Stories
Not too sure whether to laugh or cry at the above.
That would be Delta New York, which didn't work from Manchester
and Kingfisher an airline that can't manage to operate its current schedule?
There is nothing wrong with a proactive approach but...........

I do think that the airport is hiding behind the WAG as the last think they need is to lose face and admit the airport isn't profitiable.

One can already fly CWL/JKF (wherever the f*ck JKF is , CWL/India, CWL/China etc. etc. etc. via the KLM link.
What would make for interesting reading is a breakdown of ultimate destinations for CWL's KLM punters .... and I'm guesstimating that the numbers travelling CWL/NYC, CWL/India, CWL/China etc. wouldn't even fill a once weekly turbo-prop sized service!

More dreaming
When are these people going to realise that they need to go back to basic's and work from there.
Instead of these stupid pipe dreams the WAG should be having a chat with Flybe and the like to offer them some inducements to set up a base at the airport and then maybe if things do improve move onto the next stage.
You will never compete against the London airports on long haul. For an early morning flight from Heathrow you can get there in 2 hrs if you leave no later than 5am.
Everybody needs to be realistic and think what is best for Cardiff airport and the surrounding area and think what do we need and more importantly does Cardiff need an airport with Bristol 40 miles in one direction and Birmingham around 100 miles to the north and Heathrow 140 miles straight along the M4.
