whats up with the GSM flight from GLA to Lanzarote due 0325 this morning , still no news .
Although GSM are not as bad as a few years ago , I still do;nt trust them somehow - nothing to do with safety you know .
Their Canary flights always seem late in Edinburgh and I think it is down to poor timetabling and inadequate turnrounds .

Due to fly out on Friday to Sanford via Belfast, fingers crossed that everything is going to be ok. Flew out last year and we were 6 hours delayed, hoping for no delays this time. Does everything seem ok at the moment for the flight due to go out on Friday!

Im assuming it was G-CEJO that went tech at Glasgow. G-CEFG operating the tenerife flights today then positioning down to Brize.
G-SAAW doing the Lanzarote run and G-CDEG doing Alicante, although the service will be delayed.
Must be something quiet serious with JO if its been out of the game since Thursday evening.
Regards,

Its already been mentioned in the post that CEJO has had its winglets fitted. Sometime ago now, infact.
I wondered why the Tenerife service was delayed on Sunday. First CEJO blows a tyre and now CEFG goes tech. Tenerife not liking the fleet at the moment.
Anyone know what happened to CEFG?
In regards to expansion in S10, who knows. Probably is my answer.

What Fleet
The fleets dwindled in the last year .
No back up a/c for TFS
GSM going backwards, they even believe their own hype.
Summer 2006 very poor performance ---it`s going to be worse this Summer. you can just feel it.
They had delays on most of the fleet due to no spare tyres last year
Now its tyres and flaps...dear oh dear.. Flaps that somes it up!

GSM have been doing really well over W08 and are set for a very busy S09, with their scheduled routes and the ACMI work that will be bringing in lots of cash! They have no debt and have lots of cash, and have made a nice profit from selling the B736s too!
I'm confident that GSM will be around for a long time to come. Perhaps we could see a floatation within the next few years.
For S10, I would expect the economy to have improved and GSM attempting further longhaul into the Canadian market and the American market. BOS, LAX, SFO, etc, were all routes that the Owner would have liked to have flown in the near future.

That quote is simply not true. There was no shortage of tyres for 'JO. The tyre threw it's tread due to some form of damage, possibly from something on the rwy at TFS. There was no shortage of flaps either. No out station would hold a flap in stores, they are very very rarely changed on the line. However the tyre damaged the flap and it needed to be changed. The new flap came from a Boeing approved supplier in the US. However when it arrived, it was found that the flap had been damaged and the fitting could not be completed. A new flap was ordered and has now been fitted.
You need to get a grip of yourself, your idiotic rantings are embarassing. You offer nothing constructive to any discussion on GSM. What ever GSM have done to you then get over it.

I hope GSM do well this summer even though they did pull out of MME. They are a good outfit and we never really had any problems from MME

Hope your right Webby, would love to see GSM try LAX and return to BOS in S10. However is it more viable to run these from the likes of LGW & MAN or would GLA be viable?
The only real way for GSM to have a rapid expansion is for there to be a floatation of the company. I suspect TD would follow the likes of PM at Jet2 and Micheal bishop bmi retaining 50%+1share still giving him control but some more cash in the bank. All depending on the economy ofcourse.
Im not to sure of the flotation and stockmarket system, would TD have to put the entire Globespan Group on flotation or is it possible for it to be just Flyglobespan? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

You have your opinion.Ill have mine

Not rantings just facts.
I like to inform people on any info, thats what the site is for.
Gsm have been taking to court for breaching safety and fined just last year.(flying aircraft across the atlantic )They have failed to follow CAA procedures which resulted in the loss of ATOPS, also just last year.
I feel its not a bad thing to ask questions and also inform staff and public alike.
I bid you good day and a safe flight.
