FlyGlobeSpan - 8 (merged)
So the B767 currently on the MOD flights, which had a hangar "A" check this week, was a mirage in MAELs Hangar 60 at Luton then "GSM".
I think you will find MAEL carry out the hangar "A" checks on the B767 fleet and BCT do the line work.

Told You So.
This is the outcome of the hype from the airline.
They advertise routes even when they dont have aircraft.
I keep getting shot down for speaking my mind but during the winter
as they sold aircraft after aircraft..Think about it. where has the money from that gone, to balance the books?....
They have no intention of leasing long term.
maybe from June to September initialy looked good but the climate has changed and well Im afraid so will the plans of GSM.
4567 You got it in one.when you have nothing left to sell you cant claim profits.
Will they be here in 2010 .TCX taking routes
(where did RG CEO come from)
next the airline.
So not just my opinion.

Davyday Told You So
"sold aircraft after aircraft"
GSM sold THREE aircraft, 3 737-600's which did not suit the operation. The other is still owned by Globespan but is on a long term dry lease.
The 737-300's lease came to an end, they went back to the leaser
The 757 was replaced by a 767-300.
Good business sense to downsize don't you think when in a recession. Look at other airlines, how many aircraft did they have sitting around all winter doing nothing.
All the GSM fleet were working on our own routes or away on ACMI's earning money.
Time will tell what will happen at GSM but DAVYDAY you do not have accurate information, this is just your typical rants with no facts to back it up.

To further back up GSMSCOT, GSM are on track to make profit this financial year.
GSM know that the winter months are leaner up in Scotland, and that is why it is more sensible to have ACMI work during this time. Lots of other airlines operate this way. TOM, TCX, etc, send A/C away for Winter, bringing them back in summer.
Load factors are excellent for S09 so far, most flights are either full or near full.
The A/C that GSM have got rid of were older classic A/C and did not fit with the fleet strategy.
The handling company, Alba, 100% owned by GSM are going from strength to strength, with PIA, BE, VS, amongst others signed up for full handling.
As they employ over 1300 people is Scotland, and is owned by a smart businessman, I'm confident GSM will stay around for the forseeable future.

Gsm B757
Interesting bit of info I heard regarding the lease deal on GSPNA
Apparently the lease company which owns the a/c was having trouble
shifting it.
They had an airline looking for a 757 lease to become free.
The lease company happened to own the GSM 757.
GSM were looking to get rid of their 757.
Lease company offered them the 767 at the same rate as the 757.
Everybodies happy!!

Just wish to make clear DAVYDAY in no way is i trying to say or prove that GSM will be bankrupt by the end of the next financial year. If anything i hope GSM's profits go up and up I was just curious if anyone thought profits will go up this year when all airlines are struggling.
Do you think GSM will ever be floated on the stock exchange?
I would have prefered GSM hadn't got rid of the 757, it makes Long-haul in the winter months less likely and was a slightly younger and good a/c.
Ofcourse if gsm were getting a good deal at a bargin then why not.

B763 will take over the Halifax runs soon, on the way to Hamilton.
It's true that routes have been cut throughout Scotland, but look out for expansion on both fleets south of the border................

Well if more 737's were leased all the better NG'S ofcourse would be good to see some new exciting destinations. Any ideas were Lubly Jubbly?????
hatters united: im not too sure what plans for long-haul are next year. Canada and orlando would be the definate destinations as for the rest suppose we will have to see. There may not be much long-haul expansion until the 787's arrive.

Winter 09/10 Ski route released - 2 weekly to GVA from EDI.
The way the timings of this route are, a 3rd A/C will have to operate this, however, I think the ACE may be changed to a later departure.

Oops! It seems that GSM's old B752 (ex G-CEJM) has been making the news in Geordieland!
