thats what i thought, now the MAN-SSH flight has been changed to a 20.20pm departure tomorrow evening. I know there was a MAN aircraft drafted into BFS this week to pick up from the 29 hours delay of the BJI flight but not too sure what happened to the aircraft after that, whether its still based in BFS while the Sunwing was tech, (lightening strike apparently) and maybe thats why its being swapped back around, but would still make more sense to use DUB aircraft.

I just noticed the 2468 MAN-ACE departed on time today 09th Jun but the 2469 is not expected 270 mins late, anybody have any clues as to the cause of the delay? The 763 not playing ball maybe?

TOM1738 DUB - LCA seems to have made an emergency landing in AMS. Can anybody confirm and if so why it did.

It departed from DUB 1 hour 39 minutes late.

Flight Radar is showing a 738 doing the cancun trip form gatwick, is that normal, or a one off, or have they just got the info mixed up? Wouldn't imagine it would be that much fun couped up in a 737 for that long! showing a 9 hour flight.

It was at 35,000ft going across the UK and once it left the South East Cost it started to drop and it was at 2000ft and turing in towords AMS.

Thomson have now removed it from there website and this evenings return flight has being removed also.

Well deserved title in my opinion. Sometimes the ground and cabin staff are much better than those of the big scheduled carriers out there!

And the competition was erm, erm who else is their left
Thomas Cook
Condor
Tuifly
Tuifly Nordic
Jetairfly
Arkefly
Corsairfly
Monarch (they do still consider themselves as a leisure airline)
Air Transat
... could actually go on... so there is a fair few if you were being sarcastic there?

So either way, a Tui company stood a good chance of grabbing it. I can't stand using Thomson, never had such little leg room on an EU flight.

best airline ?

Bet the passengers waiting in PUJ wouldn't give them their vote.Looking like the return flight in to GLA instead of arriving at 0455 is estimating at 1525..ouch.Big arguments at check in desks Sunday morning as well if a replacement for the outgoing 0925 CAN isn't found. 767 go tech today ?

JSCL - If you can't bear using TOM again, then don't. Legroom in the charter industry is the same on most.

I am becoming increasingly annoyed at constant comments on this and other pages regarding aircraft going tech. Aircraft do have technical problems sometimes, I for one would rather arrive in my destination safely knowing that the airline takes safety seriously. If a bus shows up late do people make all this fuss? NO! Looking at how many flights an airline can operate in one day I think the number of delays is low!

Totally agree.

As you point out, when people complain about seat pitch , it's pretty much standard across the industry including low cost carriers and the likes. They all use pretty much the same aircraft in pretty much the same seating configs. If anything most of TOM's fleet would beat others in this area as they have the slimmer Recaro seating on their 738s and on the ex-blue tail 757s. As for longhaul, well they offer more leg space than most scheduled carriers...

best airline ?
No. Best Leisure Airline Award. Qatar Airways won the best airline award. The awards are based entirely from passengers own choices from Skytrax.

Very sensible comments regarding Tech Delays, I feel especially sorry for Thomson Airways when it comes to the 767 delays because clearly FCA knew that those A/C BADLY needed replacing and thus ordered 787's. By rights they should have been in service by now, and if they were TOM's OTP would look a great deal better indeed.

I remember seeing a chart that showed Thomson had a 30" pitch in line with Ryanair, Germanwings, Aer Lingus and more that Easyjet.

It then commended Thomsons long haul fleet that had larger pitches than the big european flag carriers.

At the end of the day, charter carriers have to produce a profit and to compete with the low cost airlines they have to have to make efficient use of space. Congrats Thomson! Looking forward to using them in August to Greece.

But the flight wasn't as cheap as Easyjet flight would have been, nowhere near it. I pay a first choice (Thomson) travel agent £1800 for 4 days away in Italy for two, I expect something a bit more than loco seat pitches. Was just glad to have paid the €15 fee each for the extra leg room seats on the flight back.

As someone once quite rightly said, people know the price of everything and the value of nothing. My tour operator won't go bust before I go on holiday or whilst I'm out there. Worth the extra price for the peace of mind.
