We'll probably find this is another situation of the mad world we live in nowadays where the crew will be banned from helping due to 'heath and safety issues' or more to the point that if they help and the passenger still falls they would be liable and be sued. The American lawyers who started this whole blame culture have a lot to answer for.

That headline screams 'Sorry Judith!!!' But in all seriousness that is not how the crew should treat any passenger regardless of their age and physical capability.

Disgraceful, absolutely disgraceful. All Thomson cabin crew should be thoroughly ashamed.

Yes, I can understand cabin crew not lifting hand luggage into the overhead lockers but not assisting the elderly and infirm is shocking. May have been different if they had been the grandparents of one of the crew.

I hope this will be a wake-up call for Thomson and other airlines with similar attitudes.

My experience of Thomson is that the cabin crew are the rudest, and most disinterested in their pax, preferring to talk amongst themselves rather than make eye contact during loading/unloading. This terrible episode of the elderly couple does not surprise me one bit.

Used them at the start of the year long haul - absolutely superb.

However, as always, BA came up trumps!

I suspect there's a bit of a north-south divide when it comes to Thomson - I've flown them from Gatwick, East Midlands, Doncaster and Manchester, and it is apparent that the further north you go, the friendlier the crews are! My recent flight from Doncaster had probably some of the best crew I've EVER had!

I agree that you can't tar all crew members with the same brush. Even if you had a bad experience on one flight from a particular base it doesn't mean everybody else from that base are the same.

After working with many crews from various airlines i can assure you that even within an airline the attitudes of various crews that you deal with can vary.

In the 70s & 80s Britannia was probably my most favourite airline flying with them very regularly.
However things change & I've had some pretty awful experiences with the modern Thomsonfly, their customer services aren't interested either (in my own experiences), so I have not flown with them since 2007 & never will again.
The story from the elderley couple does not surprise me.

well a lot of changes have taken place since 2007 firstly the airline is called Thomson now, as previous posts have said you cant tar all the crew with same brush, i work from a large southern base and can say customer service attitudes are on the up,it takes time bringing 2 work forces together and i have noticed a huge change for the better in the last 12 months, also bear in mind this thread is based around a newspaper article and there may be a lot more to the story than the couple have revealed hence the companies reluctance to pay compensation at this time !

I agree with both of you and have expressed my opinion only to be shot down being casued a sad \old Git Misreable Bxxtard

I Remember a while ago The Mod got hot about these questions and posted that they should not be posted However they seem to have creeped back.

My usual reply is ask the Company you booked your Holdiay with this question.

About a month ago aome individual got very cross with me when I replied as above

I Pointed out his only posts which were always 6-9 months apart asked the same question WHAT A?C will be etc etc.

Can the Mod please make a ruling /// is this the correct forum to ask these type of questions??

Next it will be does anybody know the name of the Pilot who will be flying
the XXX Flt

Mod its OVER TO YOU

Regards

Victor Meldrew s Pal

.................................
When in doubt read the rules stickied on the top of the forum.

"Folks, PPRuNe is not a Customer Service point of contact for your trip. If you have questions regarding aircraft type, movies, seating, meals etc. CALL THEM.

Further, PPRuNe isn't a flight tracking site. If your flight hasn't left and/or arrived on time..... ASK THEM.

Better to get the information from someone responsible and accountable for providing it to you rather than an anonymous website.

You paid for the ticket, may as well get the service.

Thanks,
The Mods "
If one is too dense to figure out who "THEY" are then here's a hint, PPRuNe didn't sell you the ticket.

If someone is the enabling type and just can't resist proving how clued in they are by answering one of these posts before the mods delete it don't be surprised when they find themselves sitting out some penalty time.
