Quick question -- Does anyone know if Aer Lingus will still check bags through if travelling on separate tickets?
Was originally due to travel LHR-BSL-LHR, but am now departing from BFS, so had to book separate tix.
Cheers

No, as far as I know you will have to check in again.
As you have two separate tickets the airline looks at it as two journeys.
They will not even accept responsibility if you miss the connection, some airlines are more sympathetic (EI) than others (FR).Good luck

booking seats
Now I know this is not any type of high tec question but......
for some time now we have used Aer Lingus for a trip to Ibiza and each time we have booked on line and it has worked out fine, however a few days ago we again wanted to book 2 seats top see family, and as we can fly any day we look for a low cost flight, we found that the prices for September a bit high but as we had to go in September we started to book the seats but before we could finish the booking the web went down. some hours later we got back on and found the prices had gone up on our dates, my wife said we better book at new price before they go up again so we did. Well today we went into the web site and the same seats are now lower than the first time we had tryed to book by over 100 euro, what the hell is Aer Lingus doing to us, Rip off by Aer Lingus " never" rip off 2 OAP ......I know I know must try harder not to be ripped off by the Airline which cares

Prices can go down as well as up. All airlines use a very sophisticated computer programme which manages the revenue from each seat. The object is to get as much revenue or "Yield" from every seat. Depending how fast or slow seats are selling,or what day of the week, time of the year all will have a input as to what the airline will charge. For example Monday morning flights to LHR will only have a few cheap seats on offer, but will have plenty of high fares because this is a very popular time for business people. Alternatively Mid day flights will be the opposite, with plenty of cheaper fares available.
Unfortunately you booked just before the computer had reduced the prices as seats were not selling fast enough at the higher prices.
Usually the cheaper seats sell out fast and early, but not always. There is no question of ripping people off, although one can feel like that in a situation like yours.

Thank you for all the info EI AAA, I will from now on try booking midday and hope for the best. We like to fly Aer Lingus as we feel we are well looked after and not in such a rush as others seem to be. Maybe we just remember the good old days when everyone had time to be pleasent to each other, and who remembers the Aer Lingus Bag....

When they start being pre-cleared in Dublin they will arrive at Gate 48 on Airside 3 at MCO (Orlando), and as “domestic” passengers will not require a TSA security screening upon arrival.
Does anone know the exact date of T2 opening and the operational date of pre-clearance from T2?
The DAA site does not give a date - or if it does I am unable to find it!

Does anybody know why there has been a number of Aer Lingus Regional ATR 72's at Luton Airport. Why have they been operating either the GWY or WAT services to Luton.
One on 26 July and the other on the 16 August.

I under stand that but Aer Lingus Regional are not in GWY or WAT. The GWY based ATR 72 is only used on the GWY Luton and Lorient route. The WAT one is always in Waterfod. Both of them are never in DUB.

Now that would be a picture. Did anyone take a picture? Aer Lingus colours in WAT. Did EI ever operate in and out of WAT at any stage. I don't think they did but someone might have better knowledge.

EI-SLL and EI-SLM are both in the new revised Aer Arann livery (White with green engines)
I am sure they will operate solely on the Aer Arann routes unless due to technical or maintenance reasons they are required to operate for Aer Lingus Regional.
What is the lesser of the two evils? Aer Arann aircraft operating on the Aer Lingus Regional route or hefty delays due to one aircraft being down?

Over the last few days Aer Arann have canceled many flights.
DUB - Knock (Friday)
Knock - DUB (Saturday)
DUB - Knock (Saturday)
Knock - DUB (Sunday)
DUB - Sligo (Friday morning)
Sligo - DUB
Derry - DUB (Thursday night)
DUB - Derry (Friday morning)
Derry - DUB (Firday morning)
Also an Aer Arann flight from BHX - WAT on Thursday was diverted to DUB. Usually if there was bad weather in Waterford the flight usually goes to Cork. I presume the aircraft was needed for another flight which delayed other flights from WAT. Also insted of flying the aircraft back to WAT, they put passengers on a bus to DUB and the Luton flight was delayed by nearly 6 Hours.
There must be a major crew problem or a number of aircraft have tec problems.
Also if Aer Arann don't do something about the Ise of Man - London City route they are going to lose passengers. Go to the page on this site to read about it.
Since EI Regional came along the Aer Arann brand is suffering and if something isn't done they will contuine to lose passengers.
Are the other ATR72's on order are they going to EI Regional or to Aer Arann??

Aer Lingus operated a short lived Waterford Dublin with a Shorts in the late '80. Seen pictures of the shorts parked with a Ryanair 748 if memory serves.
Aer Lingus F50's were in a number of times for charters.

Will Aer Lingus be launching more routes from Dulles under its United partnership? Any chance DUB will be one of them? It seems like a long time since they announced the IAD-MAD route.

The WAT ATR troddles off to GWY empty every Monday night and does not return until Thursday morning. All WAT flights operate from GWY on Tuesday and Wednesday.
EI-REL operated most of RE503/4 GWY WAT LTN flights last week due to aircraft tech.
