I would guess the slide in long haul traffic would be due to reducing your long haul flights by 37% eg San Francisco, Washington, Snn-JFK, as it states in the report.Sometimes the answer is in front of you.

Even allowing for overall capacity reduced by over 8%, the load factor - or ratio of seats occupied - was down 2.1%.
according to the above link.

Load Factors

The 3.4 point increase is on Long-haul. The 2.1 decrease is for the airline as a whole.

As an EI hopeful, I really hope they come through this.

Are the workforce still to be considered as a whole after this ballot? The pilots have yet again shown they are willing to do what it takes to get through this storm, the cabin crew are now showing they are not as supporting.

It seems a little unfair that the flight crew will see losses as a result of this. Of course, I realise the world isn't fair....

Best of luck to all

actually, not all flight deck are willing to make cuts after the pilots vote there was industrial action at BFS (possibly other stations?) which lead to flights being delayed by 15 minutes at each destination which went on for almost a month, cabin crew were caught up in that

Actually you are talking through a hole. LGW and BFS pilots and cabin crew are on separate T&C's and local contracts. They are not part of the 97m "cost saving" plan. The disputes they have been having with the company are a separate issue. If you are going to start drawing inferences then it would be helpful if your fully briefed and not go off half cocked.

Nice pic ASFKAP!

Interestingly (or probably not), even through they're not EI aircraft it appears from the shot that they're allocated a saint's name.

Hey Tom,

Do you mean Shannon Aerospace? I know they have a paint booth but didn't know EI or RE used them for anything.

Either way, glad to hear it's happening somewhere in Ireland.

Cheers,

P2C

I have a feeling the midnight oil is being burnt in Mr. Mueller's office tonight...Aer Lingus have cancelled the publications of their results and will instead issue a trading update. Results to be issued at a later date. Also, there's a board meeting planned for tomorrow to agree the way forward.

Turbulent times ahead......

p.s. many thanks for the painting info. I hadn't heard of them before.

All the best,

P2C

Thanks, just reading about that now. Interesting coincidence that in BA and now EI the Cabin Crew are the only grouping standing in the way of progress. (or, some would say, the survival of the respective airlines).
