Seemigly lost in the Loganair excitement - 3 x daily ABZ-LGW. Looks like a based E195. Filling the void left by London Airways.

You are correct there is currently no E195 based in ABZ but I think you'll find one based there to operate this schedule. Looks to me like a similar operation to INV.
Morning crew operate:
ABZ-LGW 0645-0830
LGW-ABZ 0905-1045
Afternoon crew operate:
ABZ-LGW 1230-1410
LGW-ABZ 1445-1625
ABZ-LGW 1705-1845
LGW-ABZ 1920-2100
There of course aren't any crews based there at the moment so maybe a small base is on the cards. Otherwise, permanent nightstopping crew would be needed for the first rotation. I'm sure we'll find out soon enough....when/if bids are invited for 195@ABZ

How come so many flights from EXT have been reduced from now until the start of the summer timetable? The Tues and Weds flights seem to be the ones that have gone in particular.

Time of the Year as the Lady would say
devon guy
The more lightly reason is to do with the time of year, January and February flights are cut by certain airlines
It is not only Exeter but around the Frybe net work you will see certain flights of the week have been cut back.
Just role on the Summer Schedules for 2008 to see what will spring up.

No point in spending a great amount of cash on airframes that will be disposed of within a short timescale. Decals do the job for the time being!.

Some of the paint schemes are up to Flybe standard where as some are real shoddy. Can't work out whether the bad ones (with BA blue on the belly) are the ones going back quicker

GCI-LGW BAe 146
http://www5.channelonline.tv/news/te...12958&zoneid=1
according to this link above it seems that FlyBe are quite happy to keep 2 BAe 146 300's purely to operate the GCI-LGW service, at a cost of one million pounds a year, however Flybe are asking the Guernsey Government for financial support to help keep the GCI-LGW service viable.
Some speculation now for you guys, if FlyBe don't get the financial support they want, will they pull off the GCI-LGW route altogether? Or will we see the states of Guernsey help them out. That would be two airlines recieving huge amounts of financial support purely to operate from Guernsey to Gatwick.

Why would the States be interested in spending money on having jets flying the route? It is not as if Flybe would not have any suitable equipment to operate to GCI. They could always use the Q400. It is a difference of 30 seats per flight and in total a loss of 120 seats a day. This could be off-set by an additional rotation. If LGW slots do not permit for that, I guess combined loads on BE and GR are not that spectacular that the island would face major problems (the morning flight out of GCI might be bit tricky, though).
On the other hand, 120 seats would be a nice 4 times daily Cityjet Dornier operation to LCY - maybe something the States are hoping for (if the whole exercise of not letting the E195 into GCI is not just a poorly disguised support for Aurigny).

According to today's Guernsey Press Flybe have ruled out using the Q400 on the GCI-LGW service, saying it is "not an option". I belive Flybe could use the Q400 quite easily but with that add a GCI-LTN service and have the likes of Blue Islands or Cityjet operate GCI-LCY a minimum of twice a day in a Dornier. Obviously the problem with LCY is the ability to get hold of prime slots, but you never know, a well known Manx airline is supposedly on the way out , so there could be some prime slots coming availiabe quite soon!
I believe that Flybe doing what they are with the GCI-LGW service is merely an excuse to pull off the route (if not out of the island) all together.

Flybe have absolutely no intention of pulling out of GCI. I understand they are totally committed to the Island along with JER and IOM. In fact there looking at taking LGW to 6 a day and are rumoured to have inquired about buying Aurigny to help the states fund the runway resurfacing.

And not before time - am I the only person on God's earth who thinks its high time the states realised that we're not living in the 1970's and governments owning airlines is a little behind-the-times?

I REALLY SHOULDN'T BE HERE

(I have no idea what plans any of the Guernsey airlines have).
