Rumor at Norwich yesterday was that it will be Limoges and Nice to France. As well as a new European city, possibly in Germany, and increased frequency on the Paris or Edinburgh route. Which would mean a third based Aircraft, but we will just have to wait and see what happens.

BHX-Scandinavia

In a recent interview with the Birmingham Post Jim French did hint at BHX getting new routes to Scandinavia.? Anyone any ideas??
ARN has fared well in the past and was one of Maersk/BARs more profitable routes which attracted a high proportion of business travellers. Maybe HEL, more likely knowing previous experience at BHX they will probably go for CPH against SAS and one of them will inevitably be the looser!!!!!

Any sign of INV getting their E195 yet?

I would have thought given the problems they have had on the route they would have made it a priority to replace the 146 asap to appease the local hierachy

FlyBe New Routes

Airline announces four new routes

Flybe will launch the new routes starting from March next year

Regional airline Flybe has announced it will launch four new routes from Inverness from next year.
The flights to Birmingham, Exeter, Manchester and Southampton are among 23 new routes nationally.
The airline has previously been criticised for its reliability and last week put Inverness in the wrong place on promotional material.
Flybe's chief commercial officer Mike Rutter said the new routes represented its commitment to Inverness.
He added: "The new routes from Inverness for summer next year show us continuing to offer choice to our Scottish passengers." Flybe said Inverness to Birmingham would operate daily from 30 March, daily flights to Exeter will begin from 8 May. Inverness to Manchester will be twice daily and flights to Southampton will be daily.

Apparently also frequency increases on some routes such as IOM-LTN going double-daily and SEN-JER going twice-weekly. Any others?

EXT-ABZ-INV-EXT

I am a bit surprised how Flybe handles these route announcements. By the standards of other airlines, one would expect a big media hype at each of the new "focus" cities, i.e. separate announcements day after day at NQY, CWL, IOM, INV with press conferences, airport directors shaking hands etc.

Flybe simply dumps the full load on the press, initially even without giving proper details of all routes in question. Strange way of doing marketing.

I wonder what the people at INV think of the new routes ... after all it is a pretty blatant attempt to hurt T3, who already offer MAN, BHX and SOU (albeit via LBA). MAN is head-to-head with very similar timings. T3 would be a big loss - they offer a good and reliable service, which FlyBe have yet to offer from INV.

EXT-INV actually seems to be a triangular EXT-ABZ-INV-EXT! Doesn't look like you can book ABZ-INV though! (Er, no T3 service any more to try to wreck? )
