Thank you for clarifying that for me. It was an observation not a criticisim!

I can think of many thinks wrong with Flybe but if I question their maintainance skills it would be somewhat odd to then go and fly around in their aircraft.

the origins of the contributions may be opposite to what may be apparent.
Some contributors may even be college students with inflated ideas of "rank"

Any more news on the LTNJER route. What is the likelyhood of a LTNGCI -2/3x weekly would be good.

Am flying BE BHX-GCI-JER this Thur. Can anyone confirm whether BE has a fast checked bag drop (for use if you check-in online) at BHX? Cheers!

You'll probably find your answer on the flybe website rather than pprune.

A short search uncovered this:

http://www.flybe.com/checkin/checkin_pop.htm

You'll find your answer in there...........

As you all know, you can pay £5 per person per sector to pre-book a specific seat (£15 ppps for an extra legroom seat). But if you decide not to do that, is it the standard choose-your-own when onboard? Or do they assign you a seat for free when you check-in at the airport or when you check-in online? Or what? The last time I flew BE was last Nov (EXT-GCI-JER), and I can't remember what they did. Cheers.

Online check-in vs airport check-in.......

You will be assigned a seat at airport check-in, and you usually get the standard 'window or aisle' option.

If you think about it, how chaotic would it be if passengers who had checked in online had assigned seats, and everyone else free boarded !!

If you think about it, how dumb of people to pre-book a specific seat at £5 per person per one-way rather than simply turning up at the airport early enough to get the seat they want. Still, if people want that added peace-of-mind, getting to the airport later but still having the seat they want...

How does it work for online check-ins? Can you select your own seat online for free between 2 and 24 hours before departure (the period when you can check-in online)?

Cheers and thanks.

FlyBe QBuster

Am flying BE BHX-GCI-JER this Thur. Can anyone confirm whether BE has a fast checked bag drop (for use if you check-in online) at BHX?
Last time I used FlyBe's check in online service it proved to be a right waste of time once at BHX. Arrived at T2 no-one at QBuster fast bag drop desk to check in my hold luggage/assign seat as told short staffed so had to join long line at 'ordinary' check in and ended up waiting 45 mins to check in bag/get seat (by which time all window seats had gone anyway!) in my opinion completely negating the point of online check in. Not having a pop at BE just saying what happened (have used it from Norwich aswell with no problems but then there are rarely any queues at Norwich to start with!)

With BE as far as I can remember you can't select your seat with online check-in unless you pay the £5.....so you may aswell just turn up early and get your preferred seat - theres no free seating on BE well not the last time I flew with them in June

Thanks, GayFriendly.

Managed to check-in online OK. Got our seats automatically assigned for free. Hopefully there will be someone on the QBuster desk.

Trumpeting how successful they are and the profit they've made. I was a bit surprised at them saying how loss making the former Bacon routes from BRS were, I always thought they were some of the most profitable routes.

Bacon Routes

Bacon routes from BRS had good load factors. Flybe are unable to provide anything like Bacon professional product, also soon as there is a bit of competition on routes, and Flybe cant have the monopoly, they run scared.. This is probably the main reason no other Airline operates schedule services from EXT. Flybe probably hold the Airport to ransom, thus preventing any other operator operating.

On a lighter note good luck to BRS with the two main LOCOs

I believe all the 145s that where owned outright have been solded and then leased back to Flybe. I believe they will be gradually being replaced as more Q400s coming on line
