Aer Lingus have put A330's on morning Dublin-Malaga flights before the aircraft is used to fly back to the US.

BHD sold
BBC are reporting that ABN AMRO have bought BHD for £132M...over three times what Ferrovial paid for the airport in 2003.
Expansion ahead I guess...otherwise why such an inflated figure?

This is one of ABn's funds that has bought Bhd. It will be interesting to see what happens here, as the objective of the fund will be to increase capital value and return. Whether they want to do that by spending money, I'm not so sure. They may be more interested in upping the charges. Anyway, if you want to invest in this fund, you will own a little bit of Bhd!!!

Above is an arrival at Belfast City airport today. Does anyone know where it goes on to? And is this a one of charter or a positioning flight etc.?
I can't see any charter services outbound from BHD by bmi today on the departures, and all of the departing LHR services have a corresponding arrival?

A we birdie told me that work on the south pier at BFS was out to tender, with work commencing over winter. It will be long with large lounges to it. (similar to international pier)

Does anyone actually know if BFS is going to be open on Xmas day this year?
I know it doesnt concern AerLingus/Easyjet/Flybe but the information does not appear to be readily available.
Thanks

The Christmas day flight was by My Travel in past years, supposidly TCX don't operate on xmas day so i doubt there is one this year! The new stands were built over the winter due to the place being alot quieter, theres generally no free space at all during the summer so I imagine the winter would be ideal for building the pier! New airbridge on the int pier on the way aswell apparantly!

That would explain the new stand layout. What was stand 15 is now used to park ground equipment and steps. This area is an ideal size for a new pier. On another note. Gate 20 has been refurbished the last few months with new flooring, toilet and seating, and available as a busing gate for remote stands.

Thanks Ards Boy, TCX are selling a flight to ACE on Xmas day 2008 however it is not a foregone conclusion that the airport will be open though. Does anyone know the answer? Are BFS opening on Xmas day 2008?

BFS is not going to be open Christmas Day 2008.
Tour operators often take customers bookings/deposits, then tell the customer at a later date "Oh, there's a problem with your booking.........", One of the older tricks in the book.
It's a cunning way of getting customers deposits, then blame someone else for the 'problem', then see if the customer will cancel or re-book. Artificially stimulates cash-flow/advance booking statistics.

EZY rumours
Been looking at the Easyjet rumour mill about this announcement tomorrow and other posts stating reduction in capacity.
After a very quick look on the 14 day view on website, Krakow, 3 week in Jan, 1 a week Feb!!! Venice no longer bookable over the winter, was last week. Faro 2 week most of Jan, weekly in Feb. Prague 4 week in Jan, only 2 week in Feb.
Now that is only a very quick look, but seems a pretty big reduction in flights. Together with the already mentioned reduction on EDI, GLA, BRS and NCL to 2 day from 3 day on certain days of the week...
Wonder how BFS will fair from this "announcement" tomorrow...

Not a big deal, just trying to elicit the facts. Having asked the airport, they couldn't give an answer. Having asked the question on here there are opinions stated but no fact.
It will be useful to all those who could otherwise expect to work or travel on Xmas day and end speculation.
Question now answered thank you.

XL Airways
Anyone know which airline is bringing home the Corfu/Crete/Rhodes holidaymakers? I take it recovery flights are inbound only... all outbound holidays cancelled?
Is everyone coming home this week or will those booked for two weeks get to see out the fortnight?

STANSTED
BELFAST CITY 32188
BELFAST INTERNATIONAL 34295 -4%(from last year)
BELFAST CITY 32188

Interesting to note that EZY are holding their own against FR, August was the first month in a while that they have carried more than FR on this corridor. Also only 4% down on last year. Also EI keep gaining ground on BD up now to nearly 42%. Credit crunch must be effecting Dundee as BE, a better brand, carrying 25% less this year.
