If there is a new base i think it could possibly be something down south!
Possibly LGW...??? or maybe expanding STN into a Jet2 base (less doubtfull)
If we thinkin up north i reckon HUY or NWI

NCL Security Condemned by DFT - chaos ensues

A surprise visit by the DfT to Newcastle International Airport, NCL has resulted in them condemning the security there. The facilities, equipment and staff has resulted in the DfT ordering all searches to be conducted by hand.

More on this breaking news item when I finish work later and get get away from the spies long enough to post the full details.

I think it will be at BLK. Sounds like will be a current base. HUY would be a dream, but I just can't see it happening with DSA down the road.

Regards

Mike

Angry

Oh dear. Just when I'd almost gone back to requesting NCL layovers, Tyneside suddenly moves back to East Germany.

Back to no UK layovers for me then. Over the sea for dignity.

IF LS were to enter the longhaul market, then I could not see that irrespective of any plans for NCL, that LBA would be overlooked.

SKYMAN

I fully agree with your comments.

With all the talk about Jet 2 getting 767 equipment that would fit in with the rumoured big expansion plans from NCL and one other base (probably LBA). I expect we will also see some new medium haul destinations from them next summer.

I passed through NCL a couplr of months ago. I am no expert, but the security seemed as competent as anywhere else I have been.

Jet2

Skyman/Jamesair - The rumours are and this is from a reliable source that current plans are for the Jet2 long haul ops to start SO8 from NCL only. LBA to start the following year (09) but NCL will be used to 'test the water' and rolled out elsewhere is a success.

Sidthesexist, damn right. Any bunch of arseholes who change their name from DoT to DfT in order make people think it's not the same crowd who f*cked up before really should not be treated seriously.

So that's what the notice on the website about getting there early is about!

Flew NCL-LHR and return last Thursday and it was commented by a few people in the queue that the screeners weren't paying attention to the monitors. However, as previously stated standards didn't seem to be any different from anywhere else...

Red Arrows - Great North Run - 30th September

Hey guys,

anyone know the usual routine for the Red Arrows on great north run day.
kinda stuff i'm after ...
what time do they arrive to refuel/ brief/ eat before display/ What time is the display etc .... ?

Thanks alot .

P.s C-GOAF was towed away from the hangar at around 9.30 on sunday evening after a thorough visual inspection of the forward fuselage. I have to say I was shocked when I arrived in wings and discovered that out of the window lol.

The Red Arrows

I'm after the same info. The schedule should have been posted on the Red's website but that's down at the moment. They usually land around lunch time depart for the display a few hours later, return for a Monday morning departure back to Scampton.
