Emirates

Well we are into the fourth week of op's on the DXB and ironically all is quiet on this thread. This is particularly interesting since pre commencement we had all the doom & gloom postings, ..never fill it.., ..no stand space..., no check in desks.., terminal standards not up to those expected,... I could go on but as I never concurred with any of these then pointless. I am however surprised that since op's commenced although there has, hopefully justifiably, been no negative comment, there has also been nothing positive posted, other than quotes lifted from the public domain by Emirates PR.

MYT – I think you will find the flights are all TCX flight times the old MYT flights have gone. For example up until yesterday HER had both MYT TUE 0900 & TCX TUE 2100 now only the TCX TUE 2100 remains. So looks like 2 x TCX based!
UAE – Well from what I am told UAE are very pleased with the way things have gone and advance booking are great. Doom merchants sorry but they are also impressed with the facilities at NCL!

FUA summer 2008

looks like the thomas cook group aren't using FUA for a saturday morning pmi in summer 2008.

FUA flight is now not bookable just an early morning and tea time TCX flight.

looks like things are going to be bad for next summer with the charters.
i would say there is defo the room now for jet2 to start these greece routes!!

Been reading the forum for a bit now, just had a quick look on the jet2 website

and it looks like Murica is now avaliable for Summer 08.... by the looks of it, its a 1500 departure in a weekday, possibly being serviced by a B752 at these times, early morning, afternoon flight for the summer, arriving back into Newcastle at 21:45.. so must be kind of about right for a B752

Keep In Touch...

Murcia has been on sale for a few weeks now. The rest of Jet2's programme from NCL and some more from other bases has not been released yet due to what I have been lead to understand is re-organisation of fleet between its current bases.

With all the current hype about new routes, I for one will be a little dissapointed if Jet2 only operate the same routes next summer on the 75. Operating just 5 routes (AGP, KRK, PMI, MJV & TFS) can be a little boring for 6 months!

Jet2 will only operate one 757 for S08, according to latest news. Granted, both 757's haven't been fully utilised, sometimes only doing 2 sectors per day on each aircraft. However, the load factors have been good and late departures have mostly been caused by slot times. BCN or ALC could of been possible destinations this summer that could well of fitted into the timetable.

I enjoy working at NCL and hope that Jet2 can continue to grow in line with the airports expansion. Talking to local residents, all seem really pleased that international routes from NCL are growing.

Just a question for any ATCO's who may be on the site:-
  • When is the tower opening and will airline staff be allowed to visit?
  • Is there any plans to create SID / STARS for the airport?

JET 2

Lukeylad, Thanks for information. So from what has been said on this forum, Jet 2 will have one less 757 next summer. If that is the case will there not be a reduction in european routes. Or will the rumoured 767 if it happens be doing some european and some longhaul?. If the 767 dosent happen, then there must be an overal reduction?.
All speculation of course. Dont think there will be any big announcements this week or at least early this week due to the route conference. But you never know.

OH-LBS needed 2 wheels changeing had to bring in the spares from Finland, Passengers spent the night in local hotels and were re checked in this morning. It is doing the DLM as soon as it gets back from LCA, then again having just checked the departure boards looks like she is only just been loaded now. I belive she did have pax on her this morning but were then offloaded when another problem was found. Im guessing they may bring in another aircraft to do the DL

LCA eventually left at 1510, 28 hours late. All pax on at 0800 this morning then the engineers couldn't remove the jacks from beneath the maingear. Eventually sorted at around 1130 but crew out of hours by then. DLM is been operated by CGOAF which is now serviceable again after having the hole repaired!

RE the Hole

A Ground Tug drove into the side of the aircraft during a turnaround and Left a hole. This happened Early Last Week. Has been in the Gill hangar for a fair few days aswell. 737 Positioned out of Man or Gatwick to cover the flights.

Anyone any ideas why a C9 (cirrus air) has just landed on the departure boards?

Cheers
