Just been analysing the Canada pax traffic this year against last year.
TORONTO
May 1333 Jun 1105 Jul 1292 Aug 1749
HAMILTON
May 764 Jun 1033 Jul 1115 Aug 931
2006 pax
Toronto only May 1143 Jun 2138 Jul 1899 Aug 2427
2007 (both) May 2097 Jun 2138 Jul 2407 Aug 2680
The two routes together give a 49.4% increase in traffic to Canada so far this year...not bad going for longhaul.

NCLFLIGHTS

The section is called "Airlines, Airports and Routes". This thread has asked for info on a NCL ROUTE, thinking that air travellers from NCL might have done it by a different ways and have some first hand experience of a route from NCL.

It's a pity that you think this thread should only be about subjects which interest you. Maybe we should all ask you in future before we post anything.

Don't worry, thats what the pprune Moderator is for. If he feels a subject is too off - thread or gets a bit heated, he closes it down or even suspends the offending member.

No you don't need to ask me first about what to post and I never implied that you should and I would not expect it. I only asked that the thread was put back on track. The idea of prrune is, I understand it, not some kind of chat room which this debate was turning into.

The first point of call for any 'spotter' wanting to know the best way to get from Newcastle to New York is surely a travel agent specialising in flight only sales. They could have given you the options straight away which must be more efficient than the time it has taken to debate the subject in pprune.

On the Jet2 front apparently NCL folks wont be dissapointed, the announcement I understand for summer 08 is due this week, fingers crossed.

Will be something and nothing on the Jet2 front, or just a copy of the routes that were announced from LBA
Prob see SSH HER PFO MAD from NCL, on the other hand rumour is that NCL will loose a 757 next summer inplace of a 767 which will operate JFK/EWR, SFB, CUN and YYZ and also doing short haul to canaries.
Again this is all rumour so take with a pinch of salt and personally i belive it when i see it

Interesting to see how much of that actually happens. Would the existing routes all stay?

I would like to see another Polish route.

I note that GTW pax numbers fell again in August.

GTW??? where is that
If you mean London Gatwick its LGW.

The numbers may have fallen slightly but the flights are picking up slightly.
Personally i can see it going to just 2x daily in the summer

I agree, those figures would look decent on a twice daily, am/pm service but the fall is huge from the BA figures.

Yes but its a different type of service to BA, lots of BA pax had onwards with BA or other airlines from LGW.
BA also had a lot of card holders on those flight, these guys will have no doubt gone over to the LHR service where they can collect their points.
There was a rumour that with the upcoming longhaul from NCL and the long haul market for jet2holidays that will come with it, they were going to offer connections upto NCL from LGW and start advertising down south, not sure tho.

Some people focus on numbers...Bean counters on yeilds. Globespan had great numbers on STN-TFS and STN-LCA but it is still being pulled as a base for S08.

Flybe

On the website it has Brussels as a destination from Newcastle though when i tried to book it it says call reservations. Do you think this is a mistake or a route that will come about.

What is Flybe's policy on animals. Thanks

Brussels is a codeshare with Brussels Airlines who already fly the route.

It may just be a mistake as the route has not been formally announced by the Airport or Flybe!!

Animals, yep we take them......Cats/dogs fine, not sure about cattle though.
Guide dogs can go in the cabin, all others go in the hold.
