Was the only movement at Luton yesterday a single engine Cessna?

Luton Council receive numerous complaints from local airport residents that they were woken by the local bird population.
...but only in the 'red light' areas

Very strange this evening when the East Midlands train I was on this evening, pulled into Luton Airport Parkway, and not seeing the rush of confused passengers with suitcases trying to work out what trains to get on.

Not a single person go on or off the train!

Very good point on the parking fees.
I thought to myself on Thursday that the airport is more than likely making more money in parking fees than in landing fees and the like.
Luton is the most expensive airport l believe for my airline (Monarch) to park at.

It’s not just the station that has taken a hit so has the coach service to London and the towns taxi drivers. First time I have seen no taxi’s in the rank. Guess the drivers have all gone to the Mosque to pray for divine intervention.

Wonder if all the support companies at Luton will survive with no income.

Just seen LTN first departure for days.
We just saw it fly over MK, looked on FlightRadar24.com and seems to be a fair bit of activity at Luton! Was only at 3000ft and didn't climb at all as flew north. It was a 737-700BJ (N721BA)

Several Thomson aircraft with Canadian Registrations (on lease to SkyService) have come from Prestwick to Luton and 3 have landed in last 45 mins. All again flew no higher than 7500ft. C-GTDH just landed a few mins ago!

PS
Im not usually this sad, watching these websites... We was just seeing how empty the skies were over the UK...

easyJet sent an A319 up from Luton, over the Liverpool area (high level) and back this evening. No doubt to assess the impact of the ash?

Looks like were open for business!

Latest update on website shows the airport will be open to receive flights from 10pm tonight...

According to arrivals board all flights are cancelled for this evening, except for two Monarch flights from Lanzorote and Tenerife, but shows no status...

The departures board shows all flights for tomorrow going ahead, accept for Ryanair.

UPDATE

This Split route is interesting, all departures from Luton at 6AM so will this be by a night stop aka LTN semi based?

Italy! I thought Ryanair and easyJet had that market mostly to themselves?
