Hardly a rare occurrence! Could be that there were delays into LHR and it lobbed into LTN for fuel.

(psssst . . . The grown ups don't like spotterish posts . . . . )

I am confused Vintage, to what are you referring?

I guess the Moderators have deleted a recent 'anorak' post?

More likely, the poster thought better of it.

Vintage is referring to a post I made about a BA A320 arriving from PRG into LTN this evening. Which seems to have been diverted...

As it my post was regarded as "Spotterish" by Vintage, I thought it be best I delete it. So I don't upset anyone and shut anyone else up from moaning!

Gilesdavies - you should have kept it on there and not worry about what the others say.

Many of the threads include questions like yours and no one else seems to complain.

Buster - isn't it about time that you updated your locale ("London Whipsnade Wildlife Park"). How's about something relating to watercress lines or even gliders...
It has been a while since I read headlines like these. Is this the first signs of a stagnation in the Lo-Co mark
Isn't this just the usual Ryanair winter ploy to ensure that its flight crews don't go over their annual duty hours? Thought that RYR simply grounds several aircraft for a few weeks about this time of the year to enable these hours to stay legal?

Have I been asleep for the last few months or is this new? I see that a Wizz aircraft is night stopping tonight. There was I thinking that the apron was full?

I think there is one Wizz night stopper three days a week, and has been for some months.

Wizzair night stopped every night during the summer apart from Saturday and Sunday nights.

During the winter it seems to be only a few nights ... Monday, Wednesday and Friday from memory.

Ryanair moving into Manchester proves that MOL is full of the stuff bears do copiously in the woods!

When you see Ryanair flying from Manchester into Europe, you know that the market is 'tight'! Airports unwilling to subsidise RYR operations.

easyJet have inherited their base, so what is MOL's excuse considering Ryanair "don't do major city airports" (especially as Liverpool is just up the road)!

Then you get easyJet offering to place you on board first if you have load baggage for £9+, Galileo and all.

Trust me, Marwell is the poor man's Whipsnade!

Manchester and Ryanair. Who would have thought that possible 3 years ago?
Luton Town in Administration, Luton Airport with no prospect of 2012 expansion. Sounds like a normal Luton situation to me!

With the opening of St. Panc Int, Eurostar has now began selling through tickets, from various towns and cities in the UK. From Luton, travel time to Paris is 3hr 40mins. Bearing in mind this is city centre to city centre, surely this is going to have a fairly major impact on easy's 4 x daily to CDG. What are the chances of it still being in operation this time next year?

Don't know if there is enough traffic using the CDG route and not going to the centre of Paris. I go to Pointoise occaisionally and it would still be quicker to fly to CDG. Debonair used to be wonderful for this.

Perhaps still enough for two a day with Eurostar?

How does the train compare to Amsterdam - any effect there?

I just noticed that!

It is a nice, clear and fresh website. But it is full of too many adverts and banners. But I suppose all websites are like this these days.

I noticed there was a large "About Us" button and had a sub menu for "Airport Development", getting all excited and thinking they may have finally released some ideas of future plans. And "Surprise, Surprise", it is the old documents transferred to the new website and have even copied and pasted the same text to say new plans will be released by the end of 2007... They have 10 days of the year left to release them!

easyJet A319 - Emergency Landing at LTN this Morning

easyJet A319 (G-EZAD) from Dortmund had to make an emergency landing at LTN this morning, due to smoke in the cabin.

Seems to have landed OK and no casualties...

Grrr

A very sad day. I knew him quite well whilst he was at Luton during the mid to late 1980's. Very sad.
